Following on from May, Vivid Sydney is still alive and well in Sydney. This kaleidoscope of bright colourful lights, music and entertainment will leave us for another year on the 9th of June 2014. For the latter event, there will be a dedicated kids play space at First Fleet Park at The Rocks. Otherwise, everything to do with Vivid Sydney will be suitable for everyone. The Emperors Quest at the Chinese Gardens will also be in full swing until the 30th of June.

There is no need to worry about catching the winter blues Sydney, as families have some worthy choices available for their child/children to enjoy the first month of winter. Even better, the top three suggestions below are all indoors based, and price wise are rather affordable. The following kid-friendly events for June are as follows - these events are covered in date order, and not in order of preference:

1. Art Safari: Perfect Patterns

Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art at The Rocks on Wednesday the 11th of June, and on Friday the 20th of June 2014 respectively. This event is suited to children ages 3-5, and the ticket price is $20 per child. Parents and carers enter for free. The theme for June could either comprise of storytelling, drawing, painting and/or drama to name. This is an art appreciation course for the little ones. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.

2. The Gruffalo at The Riverside Theatre

A short and sweet theatre play suitable for children ages 3 years and older. The story is about a mouse who comes face to face with The Gruffalo. It is all about the survival of the fittest in a humourous manner. The %%mouse%% will definitely overcome a few fears. The kids of Sydney can sing along and/or laugh in this play. Tickets are around $20-25 per person. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.

3. Peppa Pig Live: Treasure Hunt

This popular character will be performing on the South Coast on the 25th and 26th of June, and this play is set to shine on the back of it's success at London's West End. Your child/children will be given fun opportunities to sing along on this treasure hunt, with the likes of Zoe Zebra and Danny Dog to name; and the organisers also promise an abundance of games and fun experiences along the way. Tickets are $34.90 per person, and this event will be held at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre in Wollongong. Note: a $6.50 transaction fee is added on for all phone and online bookings. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here. Peppa Pig will also be performing with her brother George.

Another top kid-friendly recommended event worthy of being mentioned also includes the Go-Series Kids Triathlon and Aquathon. This event started in May, and is expected to conclude in mid-July. This event is suited to children ages 7-15. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here. Dates and race times for this event vary, and is especially dependent on age group categories.
