The kids of Sydney are sure to be entertained in February as a diverse range of kid friendly characters come to life. Fun all round.
1. Imogen and the Pirates
The North Shore area is bringing children's theatre to life. The main character, Imogen Merryweather, was once dubbed a princess, and now has the task of managing some careless pirates. Held at the Marian Street Theatre for young people, this event is suitable for kids ages 3-10. Audience participation is encouraged. Sing along and play to this interactive theatre event. On from now until the 23rd of March.

2. Dinosaurs in the Wild
Included in the normal entry to Taronga Zoo this summer. You need to get in quick if you wish to get up, close and personal with some (seemingly) larger than life dinosaurs. Why? This event must end on Sunday the 3 February 2013, therefore keep the first weekend free in February if you wish to go. Attendees will get to enjoy some educational talks on these larger than life creatures that might inspire you to see Jurassic Park. There are opportunities to make some origami dinosaurs too. Some really interesting facts and further information on this event can be found by clicking here. Who knows what imaginative, creative animal event the zoo is going to put on next.
3. Alexander the Great: Heroes & Heroines Sleepover
A sleepover? Correct. That is not a misprint. As part of the Alexander The Great exhibition on at the Australia Museum, a chance to sleep over at Australia's oldest museum beckons. Just like the dinosaurs, this is another time sensitive kid friendly event that ends in the first weekend of February 2013. Watch DVDs and do something incredibly cool: view this exhibition with torchlight. No need to be scared - it is a great experience that your children can brag about to their classmates. It's will be nothing like what happens to the security guard in the movie Night at The Museum. The whole museum can be enjoyed in the dark!
4. The Wiggles Exhibition
A favourite, a real Sydney favourite, that has managed to come back again and again. Sydney's Powerhouse Museum is home to a few kid friendly events, yet for a great day of play, and possibly a 'wiggly birthday party' then you can't go past The Wiggles Exhibition. There are plenty of different play hubs, and all kids get the opportunity to drive that Big Red Car. There are opportunities to draw, colour in, use building blocks and dance to The Wiggles.
A busy February, and watch this space for the top kid friendly events in March.
