Hello Sydney. Following on from the top kid friendly March events as promised, April is set to be entertaining and sensational for families all round. It's great that there are two long weekends in April due to Easter, however, there are some other more local based events that are sure to be great, affordable days out for Sydney families. One of them is designed to raise funds for a much needed cause. As always in this series, these events are presented to you in date order, and not in order of preference. 1. Camden Show

Camden is only an hours drive from the CBD, and the Camden Show is set to be educational for the kids of Sydney as well. It is where the city meets the bush. This is an agricultural kid friendly event. Top features of this event include exhibitions, rides, fireworks, and Pansy the trackless train. This event attracts over 40,000 people from all over Sydney on an annual basis, and has definitely stood the test of time. Apparently this event has been running for over 100 years now. A new feature of this event for 2014 includes a Military tattoo feature on a Friday night. Held on the weekend of the 5th and 6th of April 2014.

2. Sydney's Working Truck Show Penrith

This event is a family fun day. Up to three kids are admitted free of charge in the company of a paying adult. The latter offer is valid for all children between the ages of 2-16. Funds are being raised for charity, and the kids of Sydney will get to have their faces painted if they wish. Furthermore, there are over 20 amusement and thrill rides for kids to enjoy for free. 3. Sydney Royal Easter Show

An annual event held at the Sydney Showgrounds at Sydney Olympic Park. This popular annual event starts on the 10th of April, and concludes on the 23rd of April. Top features of this event always includes the show bags, as well as the rides. Animal judging and woodchopping shows are also popular. Your child/children will also love the farmyard nursery. 4. Darling Harbour Hoopla

There is always something on for the kids of Sydney at one of Sydney's most popular playgrounds - none other than Darling Harbour. The Darling Harbour Hoopla will be on again from the 18th to the 21st of April 2014. A free show of cool circus inspired tricks. Laugh out loud hi-jinks and large scale puppetry are the main features.

5. Sydney Easter Parade

The central theme is to celebrate the birth of Christ. The true meaning of Easter is alive and well, and the organisers promise a great day out for the entire family. Held at Sydney's Hyde Park. There you have it Sydney. A lowdown on some of the top kid friendly April events. Many families also take their kids out on ANZAC Day, usually for the parade that starts at Martin Place and continues along George Street from 9am. Have a great month, and watch this space for May.
