Mornington has such a lot going on there all the time. It is a great seaside place to visit and also to spend more than a day in. With nice drives along the coastline, this is an ideal spot for both summer and winter and it is just 57 kms from the City Centre.

[b] Fling Presents Minimal on Main [/b]
This is the first Fling event and it will be at the iconic Grand Hotel, 124 Main Street. It will have the finest Melbourne Minimal DJs!

The date for this is Friday 6th July from 9 pm, to Saturday 7th July at 4 am and the cost is between $16 and $38.

[b] Sweet Shepherd Rescue Auction Dinner [/b]
This will be a massive jewellery and art auction, and your can get your tickets here.

All proceeds of this auction will be given to the Sweet Shepherd Rescue to help with the ongoing costs of caring for rescued dogs.



There will be a cocktail followed by a meal at the Mornington Golf Club, Tallis Drive. The auction/dinner will be on Saturday 7th July from 6.30 pm to 11 pm.

[b] Latin Sunday Session [/b]
This is a 30-minute Latin lesson with professional Latin dancer, Jonny Garnett. After this there will be 2½ hours of social dancing with one of Melbourne's hottest Latin DJs.

Ticket includes a drink on arrival plus some of Casa's delicious tapas.



It will be on 8th July from 2 pm to 5 pm at Casa de Playa, 39 Main Street. Tickets are $41 here .

[b] Babba Live at Publican [/b]
If you love ABBA, then come to see BABBA - Australia's favourite Swedish supergroup.



See them live on Sunday 8th July from 4 pm to 9 pm at 62 Main Street. They will perform all your favourite ABBA songs, so buy your $25 tickets here.

[b] Winter Braising Cooking Class and Lunch [/b]
Braises are a wonderful, warming meal in mid winter, and following this, what could be better than a hot crumble to finish off the meal! This is just a sample of what you will have at these cooking classes.

The menu will include,
  • Slow-cooked beef brisket from Hillock downs
  • Slow-roasted lamb shoulder
  • Hawkes vegetables potato mash
  • Raspberry and rhubarb crumble



  • This will be on Sunday 15th July from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm at the Hillock Downs Produce Store, 151 Dundas Street, Rye.

    [b] Day Ride at Mornington Peninsula [/b]

    This is one of the oldest trail horse clubs in Victoria and they have several rides throughout the year. Riders will need to be competent, have their own horse and transport.



    This will be held on 15th July at 10 am.

    [b] Pete Murray National Heartbeats Acoustic Tour [/b]
    Byron Bay singer-songwriter, and musician, Pete Murray has announced a stunning remix of his song Heartbeats, by ARIA-awarding winning Peter Mayes. To celebrate, Pete has announced a 3 piece acoustic tour supported by newcomer, Matthew Armitage.



    Playing on Sunday 15th July. at 7.30 pm, the venue is The Grand Hotel Mornington, 124 Main Street. Cost is $50 and you can book here.

    [b] Author's Talk with Kim Hodges [/b]
    Girl Over The Edge is recommended for adults only and will be on at the Mornington Library, Vancouver Street.

    Author Kim Hodges has lived with mental illness for the past five years and [i]Girl Over The Edge[/i], is the follow up to her successful debut memoir [i]Girl On The Edge[/i]. This will take the reader through severe episodes of depression, her road to recovery and everything else in between.



    The event is FREE however you must register for it here .

    This talk will be on Thursday, 19th July from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

    [b] Anthony's Nose to Rosebud Pier [/b]
    This is about a 6.4 km walk along the McCrae foreshore.



    It will be held on Tuesday 24th July, 2018 at 11.00 am and will start from the foreshore car park, and continue on to the south of Anthony's Nose (opposite 585 Point Nepean Rd).

    It then follows the Bay Trail along the foreshore to Rosebud Pier and, weather permitting, you will walk along the pier itself.

    After returning, there will be lunch served at the Tom Salt Park and picnic area, and then the tour concludes back at Anthony's Nose.

    [b] July Writers Retreat [/b]
    If you are a writer, you could spend a long weekend with a "Content Coach".

    This coach will teach you to be the best writer you possibly can for helping you in your business.

    You will have a private room in a luxury home. You will get great food and wine and be pampered. Coaching will be one on one as only four spots in each class.

    [b] Tree Planting Day [/b]
    This will be to aid the re-vegetation of the Hillview Community Park in Dromana. This reserve is also undergoing weed removal and they will, at the same time, build in picnic facilities.



    Tree planting will be held on 29th July from 10 am to 11 am.

    [b] Young at Art [/b]
    Here your pre school-age children can have a tour of the works on display, enjoy a story, and do a creative activity inspired by their current exhibition.



    Cost is $5 and it will be held at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Dunns Road. It will be held on Tuesday 24th July from 10 am to 11 am, and book your tickets here.

    [b] Improve Your Sleep [/b]
    Join Naturopath, Natalie Gibson for an information session on better sleep. You will learn all about sleep and what is involved in a sleep cycle, and how much sleep is the right amount for you.

    Relive memories and songs of the Beatles music with The Beatlez (formally The Melbeats)
