This January there will be plenty of events for everyone to enjoy across Auckland and surrounds. Events include festivals, workshops, markets, fairs, music, theatre, performing arts, and more.

1. Resolution NYE Festival 2019/20
When: Monday, 30 December 2019-2 January 2020
Where: Kumeu Showgrounds, Access Road, Kumeu
Cost: Tickets range from $99-200pp
Details: Reset, receive and recreate your natural utopia of community, wellness and magic. This event will feature family-friendly activities, workshops, inspirational talks, live music, DJs, yoga, demonstrations, displays, pop-ups, interactive art installations, kids zone, family-friendly entertainment, world kitchen, inspiration zones, day & night market stalls, and more. 2. Romeo and Juliet
When: Wednesday, 1-31 January 2020
Where: Anthony Harper Pop-up Globe Theatre, The Shakespeare Gardens, Ellerslie
Cost: Tickets range from $10-$300pp
Details: Set against the baking heat of an Italian summer, the ancient vendetta between two families takes a tragic turn as gangs of hooded youths look for trouble on the streets. Based on the performance tradition of 1614, this theatre production is Shakespeare's epic love story. Click here for the website.

3. New Years Picnic
When: Thursday, 2 January 2020: 10am-3:30pm
Where: Claris Sports Club, Whangaparapara Road, Great Barrier Island
Cost: Free
Details: This family-friendly event will showcase a day out jam-packed with entertainment, music, culture, bouncy castles, food stalls, art & craft, heritage, tours, water slides, face painting, children's games, charity auction, raffle drawn at 1:30pm, live music, natural therapies, and more. 4. Much Ado About Nothing
When: Saturday, 4-30 January 2020
Where: Anthony Harper Pop-up Globe Theatre, The Shakespeare Gardens, Ellerslie
Cost: Tickets range from $10-$300pp
Details: Travelling home in the summer heat, a group of soldiers break their journey on a South Pacific Island, at a luxurious mansion inhabited by a wealthy businessman and his beautiful entourage. But while the valiant Claudio, and beautiful Hero are head over heels in love, the cynical Benedick swears he'll never be married - and particularly not to the quick-witted Beatrice. Or will he? The performance will showcase a full cast in spectacular costumes that will blend the past and present, live music, dance, and performances by specially formed international ensemble. Where: Ostend War Memorial Hall and Reserve, 76 Ostend Road, Waiheke Island

10. Wine Cheese & Astronomy

19. Movies in Parks: The Lion King
