It has been brought to our attention that the Perth Mint event in this article (item 8) was incorrectly advertised.
The Mother's Day offering was incorrectly published as 'Free Lunch' rather than 'Free Entry'. We apologise for any inconveniences this error may have caused The Perth Mint and our readers on Mother's Day.
Please note The Perth Mint was not consulted during the writing and publication of this article.
The event listing has now been corrected.

Here are some unusual ideas for Mother's Day this year
It will shortly be Mother's Day, and it is therefore time that we all book somewhere if we intend to take this very special person out for a meal!
There are many places you could go to, as well as other things you could do with your Mum, and this list is places and events.
Any of these would be a wonderful gift for this special day.
3. FREE - AT HOME MOTHER'S DAY DELIGHTS If you do not want to, or cannot afford to take Mum out for lunch, then why not pamper her at home!
Firstly let her sleep in as long as she likes, making sure no one disturbs her. Make sure she has a very relaxing day with no housework by firstly cooking a lovely breakfast for her (and the rest of the family).
Run a bath with bubbles or essential oils and let Mum soak for an hour or so in the bath, or let her spend time alone with a friend over a cup of tea or coffee with no one else around.
Make sure that no one argues or squabbles on that day. Or why not let Mum lie on the bed quietly for an hour during the day with no interruptions, and read a book!
All these are great ideas if money is a problem and your Mum has little time to herself on normal days.
4. BUY MUM A HAMPER
If you are at a loss for what to buy for Mum, why not get her a hamper made up of some of her favourite foods.
There are many online companies who do this, however, I once made my own up by going to a supermarket, and buying only those things that I knew my Mum liked. Then buy a nice basket and make the hamper up yourself.
The other alternative for a hamper is a basket of soaps and body oils and lotions.
Most Mum's would appreciate this present put together with a great deal of thought.
5. CANDLELIGHT DINNER
You could make Mum a romantic candlelit dinner with her favourite wine, where you do all the work including the cooking, cleaning up, and clearing up.
Many mums cook every night, and I know I used to appreciate having a meal cooked for me occasionally - just make sure you do all the shopping also for this event.
6. FISH AND CHIPS AT THE BEACH
Mother's Day is cooler than summer and it is often a beautiful time of the year to have a fish and chips lunch or early dinner, on the beach.
At Scarborough Beach, you can get your fish and chips, and cross over the road and eat them in comfort with the family, or if you have dogs, you could drive to a dog beach after picking up your meal along the way. Many of us treat our dogs as "kids" so we like to include them in our arrangements with the family!
7. LUNCH AT A NURSERY
Many Perth nurseries now have very good cafes, and if your Mum is like me, she loves plants!
Let Mum be surrounded by plants, have a light lunch and buy her a plant or two of her choice.
8. FREE ENTRY AT THE PERTH MINT
The Perth Mint is offering free entry on Mother's Day, so this would be a charming place to go to with its vintage building and pleasant cafe. You can book here for this lunch, as well as find out more about the current exhibition.
Make sure you book soon as this venue will sell out quickly, and you can make your bookings here.
10. MOTHER'S DAY BREAKFAST WITH KOALAS
Who can resist a cute koala! At The Maze, at 1635 Neaves Road, Bullsbrook, the family can have breakfast with the koalas again exclusively for Mother's Day, 13th May.
This is an unusual idea for Mum and you will get a delicious meal as well as meet some of Australia's cutest and cuddliest animal icons.
