Child-free, budget-friendly date nights for parents
The summer school holidays haven't even started yet but there are probably lots of parents out there already dreaming of a night away from the kids. Unfortunately, parenting tends to be an expensive 18-plus years of your life, and not everyone can afford fancy date-night dinners or extravagant evenings out. Thankfully, there are some fairly cheap ways you and your significant other can enjoy a budget date night and spend some quality time together.
Hurray for 'Cheap Tuesday' – the day of the week when meals and entertainment makes a slightly smaller dent in your weekly budget. You'll find cheap cinema tickets throughout Perth, including at Hoyts and Grand Cinemas, where tickets will set you back $13 as opposed to the usual $21 for adults.

Hawkers markets and food markets are a great way to spend an evening with your partner on a limited budget. You can eat as much or as little as you like or give yourself a set budget to spend. The Mount Hawthorn Hawkers Markets run every Friday until the end of March 2017, while the Twilight Hawkers Markets are held in Forrest Place every Friday night until April 28th.
If you know where to look, there are plenty of Australian websites where you can find great deals for dinner dates, high teas, pamper packages – even skydiving. Groupon, Scoopon and Red Balloon are just a few of the sites where you can find bargain experiences and meal deals.
A picnic overlooking the sunset or under the stars
A picnic overlooking the Swan River is possibly the cheapest and loveliest date of all. Well, you will have to buy food, wine/beer, some disposable cutlery, a picnic blanket, a fancy little picnic basket, insect repellent ... but watching the sun setting over Perth with your partner is a truly priceless experience.
