SOLDIERS POINT
Thao Walla Sunset Retreat is located at the far tip of Soldiers Point and it is the perfect spot to watch the sun set over the waters of Port Stephens. This park has van sites, glamping tents and 1 and 2 bedroom villas. Our family have stayed at this venue and we loved the cabins in the trees, the birds in the morning and the pool near the entrance. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Nelson Bay and is a quiet spot to retreat to at the end of the day. See
here for details. For a full article on things to do at Soldiers Point, see
here.
BIG4 Ingenia Holiday Park is located in a central position at Soldiers Point - next door to
Soldiers Point Bowling Club and across the road from Bannisters Hotel, which has the
Rick Stein's restaurant and
Cheeky Dog Bar family pub. On the other side of the hotel is Wanda Beach for a swim and the Soldiers Point Jetty - so take your
fishing rod! They have caravan sites and tent sites (with ensuite, laundry and power options) and 1,2 and 3 bedroom cabins. Our family have stayed at this venue and found the facilities to be excellent for families, with a waterslide into the pool, trampolines, games room, under 5's indoor play zone, playground and tennis courts. See
here for details. For a full article on our family's visit to this Big 4, see
