Halloween is one of the most popular annual celebrations, observed every year on the 31st October. A spooky evening all about ghosts, witches, ghouls, monsters and magic, it's also a great time to dress up and have a party, go trick or treating, carve pumpkins and have fun. Children and adults of all ages can enjoy Halloween; if you don't have any plans just yet, there are plenty of Halloween events planned for 2014.



This year the suburbs of Cambridge , Claremont , Peppermint Grove , Cottesloe , Mosman Park , Nedlands , and Subiaco have again joined forces with Neighbourhood Watch to promote a fun and safe Halloween. "Neighbourhood Watch Halloween HotSpot" packs are available to residents during October, then on Halloween, simply display the orange balloons and stickers so that children will know that they are welcome to Trick or Treat at your house.



The Grove Library is having a free family-friendly Halloween event. Come along and enjoy spooky story-telling, a Halloween costume competition and ghoulish games, from 5pm, then from 6pm you can purchase a yummy sausage sizzle.

Come along to the Wolf Lane Halloween Birthday Party on Friday 31st October 2014. Doors open at 4pm to celebrate Wolf Lane's 3rd Birthday and for a terrific Halloween Party. Enjoy live entertainment with East P from 5.30pm, Happy Hour between 4pm and 5pm with loads of $7.00 drink specials, from 5pm till 6pm the Wolf Pack Members Party offers free drinks and bites. There will be $10.00 Wolf Blood Cocktails all night, plus prizes for the best costume.



A whole week of Halloween festivities return to Northbridge Piazza with Carnival Macabre 2014. Running from Friday 24th October 2014, to Sunday 2nd November, 2014, the week will feature a whole range of fun including Jumping Jitterbug Halloween, Hearses and Hotrods Car Show, Sinful Salsa Masquerade Ball, themed dancing and free movies, plus there will be plenty of family-friendly activities such as face painting, story-telling, an animal ark, inflatable Harry & Hogwarts Castle and the Scitech Monstrous Science Workshop.

Pancho's Mexican Villa Restaurant in East Victoria Park is hosting a Halloween Freaky Fiesta, with Halloween fun on Friday 31st October, 2014, and Day of the Dead celebrations on Saturday 1st November, 2014. Come along in costume on Friday 31st October, 2014 and you will receive either a free beer or a free frozen cocktail. Pancho's is also offering $6.00 nachos, Coronas and frozen cocktails with any main meal. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning 9227 5515.



A great way to spend Halloween is to take a Halloween Tour of the old Fremantle Prison . Special Torchlight Halloween Tours will be held on Wednesday 29th October, Thursday 30th October and Friday 31st October, 2014, and tours take approximately one and a half hours to complete. Visit the creepy cells, the ghostly gallows and the haunted hallways of this spooky old prison. The experienced guides will thrill you with true tales of murder, mayhem and madness. Tickets cost $29.00 for adults, $20.00 for children, $88.00 for family and $27.00 for concession holders and can be purchased from the old Fremantle Prison or by phoning 9336 9200.

Adventure World in Bibra Lake will be hosting a series of popular, spooky evenings called 'Fright Nights'. These evenings will be held on Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November, 2014, between 3pm and 10pm. Promising to be a spooktacular evening of devilishly good family fun, there will be fun face painting, roaming ghouls, pop up performances, street food, Halloween party treats, competitions, sideshows rides, bar, DJ and much, more.



Northbridge Piazza will be screening a series of spooky, spine-tingling movies between Friday 24th October and Saturday 1st November, 2014. The free movie screenings start with:
Pan's Labyrinth on Friday 24th October,
These Final Hours on Saturday 25th October,
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and The Illusionist on Sunday 26th October,
The Troll Hunter on Wednesday 29th October,
The Imposter and Black Swan on Thursday 30th October,
Only Lovers Left Alive and The Cabin in the Woods on Friday 31st October,
Memento on Saturday 1st November,

The Town of Bassendean is running an initiative called 'Keen on Halloween'. Register your address on the website to let people know you're participating in the Trick or Treat fun, enter the 'Spookiest Letterbox Competition' and enjoy the free family movie screening of Monsters University from 7:30pm, at Jubilee Reserve.

If you live in Ellenbrook or the surrounding areas you can register you address on the community Facebook page to let people know that 'Trick or Treaters' are welcome at your house. The Facebook page is also full of helpful Halloween ideas and tips.
