Recounting the adventures in Sydney and beyond! :)
Published December 1st 2012
It is hard not to notice the increase in frozen yoghurt bars in and around Sydney. Frozen yoghurt is a new concept in dessert promoting a healthier alternative to ice cream.

With the sweltering, hot days in Sydney during summer, I think having a cup of froyo is a great way to cool yourself down.

Being a lover of healthy eating, I have tried many (almost all!) the froyo dessert bars in Sydney. So, here are my top 3 froyo bars.

1. Moochi Frozen Yoghurt

This is my favourite place to get froyo. One of the reasons would be because I think they have the best watermelon flavoured frozen yoghurt. They also have a lot of variety in their toppings.

2. Yogurberry Frozen Yoghurt
Following close behind would be Yogurberry. What I love most about this froyo chain is that a lot of their stores offer self-serve which is a whole lot of fun. The Strathfield store is the one I usually visit because it has a great atmosphere and is really spacious so you will always find a seat. At the self-serve bars, they offer a huge variety of flavours including chocolate, blueberry, green apple, mango, green tea, peach, pomegranate, the list goes on. One of my favourites would have to be the taro flavoured froyo.

A downside to self-serve froyo may be that you don't realise how much you put into your cup until you pay for it. Also, because you are paying per 10g, it can be quite costly. Nevertheless, it's great fun and the yoghurt is top quality.

3. Noggi Frozen Yoghurt
Coming in at my top 3 is Noggi. One of the things I love about Noggi is their customer service. The staff at Noggi was extremely friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere. Noggi also offer stop quality yoghurt, however, their flavours and choices are quite limited. They do make a really good biscotti flavoured yoghurt which tops the one seen at other chains. Also, they also have some occasional flavours that appear at certain times of the year such as Blood Orange at Halloween, which is unique to the others.

So, there are my top 3. Strathfield has become extremely popular for the froyo chains that have been opening up there. The 3 that I have listed above can all be found at Strathfield. So, what are you waiting for? Go try them out for yourself to see which one you like best.

I love the self-service at YogurBerry too - so much fun but you're right, the novelty of self-service definitely gets you carried away with loading the bowl high with delicious yogurt and toppings!

Another favourite of mine is WowCow - I've been to the one in Parramatta and had an apple frozen yogurt with crumble topping...predictable combo but so tasty!
