With the mercury rising, the temperature is a hot topic. These weather apps (for iPhones) are a great way to keep track of the celsius, know the UV and get you beach ready. And best of all, they're free.
Sun Smart - This clever app by the Cancer Council Victoria is full of need-to-know information. It reveals the day's weather (high and low), plus UV and at which times you need sun protection. It also let's you set a sunscreen reminder (when to apply/reapply) and UV alerts, plus you can calculate how much vitamin D you need.

Swackett - A funky illustrated weather app, it shows the current temp (and what it will feel like), day's high and the expected night-time temp too, plus the next day. All with cool illustrations of clothing for the day. It also includes weather maps/imagery and satellite pictures for those wanting a more in-depth report.

Weatherzone - A weather app that gives you all the details in an easy to read format, including wind gusts, humidity, rainfall, UV, gusts, pollen level, sunrise, sunset.
Good for: Those wanting added weather details and the forecast for later in the week. Special features: Graph showing forecast of next 24hours, in-depth weather details, sunrise/sunset times, radar image and ability to set your location.
Surf Life Saving Australia's Beachsafe app for iphone
Beachsafe - A perfect summer weather app, select your beach of choice and receive a six day forecast, UV report plus the water temperature and surf conditions including swell, tide and any hazards. By Surf Life Saving Australia.
