Christmas Lights and Christmas Decorations Are Everywhere in Colonel Light Gardens

As we near the end of the year some of us are winding down to holiday mode already, while others are frantically getting organised putting up Christmas decorations and searching for gifts for our friends and loved ones.

Christmas lights displays are sprinkled about in the suburbs, Christmas carols are almost inescapable, and Christmas markets are popping up everywhere too. The French Christmas markets are one of the earliest and are very popular, while the Dusk Art and Craft Markets at Carclew will also be huge. Don't forget the Dirty Girl Artisan Markets too.

If all that sounds too hard, why not relax and enjoy one of the many Feast Festival events before it finishes? Or combine Christmas shopping with family entertainment at the free Semaphore Street Fair? Afterwards the kids will love to visit the Carnival at the Semaphore Amusement Park.

I will probably take my kids to the free Orphanage Park Pooch's Christmas BBQ, and help some of their furry friends at the Hahndorf Animal Shelter.

After two hugely successful free Open Days at Z Ward asylum for the criminally insane there will be no more. However believers in the supernatural are booking in droves for Paranormal Night Tours. Three Photography Lock-ins for keen photographers have already been scheduled, and the National Trust is also taking bookings for daytime guided tours.

On a lighter note, why not relax at Summer Sundays at Beaumont House? At Port Adelaide the Port Art Exhibition helps local artists and Rotary charities. Sports Fans should take a look at baseball at Norwood Oval, while wine buffs will enjoy tasting boutique wines at the National Wine Centre.
