All the biggest and best FREE events in Perth this month.

1. May Fete
Saturday 5th May, 8am-11am
St Augustine's Church, Bayswater

All are welcome to this traditional parish fete with plenty of food including a sausage sizzle and morning tea, arts and crafts, plants, a cake stall, jams and preserves, face painting, kids activities, raffles and plenty of gift ideas just in time for Mother's Day.

2. Bickley Harvest Festival
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May
Bickley and Carmel (approx. 30 minutes from Perth)

Spread over two days and seventeen venues in Bickely, Carmel and Pickering Brook, the Harvest Festival is a celebration of the end of the region's harvest and a showcase of its fine produce including award-winning ciders, wines and gourmet foods. There will be kids activities, competitions, live music and of course – plenty of amazing food.

3. Mandurah Stretch Arts Festival**
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May, from 10am to 4pm
Mandjar Square, Ormsby Tce

This is a massive two-day festival which celebrates all the art forms including performance, dance, live music, visual arts, theatre, circus skills, projections and more, all delivered by local, national and international artists. There will be plenty of opportunities to try new skills with a range of interactive workshops and activities plus more than 100 market stalls.

4. Mount Hawthorn Streets and Laneways Festival
Sunday 6th May, 11am to 7pm
Scarborough Beach Rd, Mt Hawthorn

This enormous free street festival has it all, celebrating local artists and business, restaurants and community groups. You will find plenty of street food and pop-up bars, heaps of market stalls and open-air galleries, a petting zoo and side-show alley, roving entertainers and much more.

5. Street Karaoke
Sunday 6th May, 4.30pm to 6.30pm
197 Scarborough Beach Rd, Mt Hawthorn

Part of the Streets and Laneways Festival, this fun flashmob event will see hundreds of people getting together to sing iconic classics and try out the new Rumble Bumble sound system.

6. Moondyne Festival
Sunday 6th May, 9am-4pm
Township of Toodyay

Take the kids and head to Toodyay for the Moondyne festival – where visitors are welcomed to dress up and take part in the free olden days family activities, watch the re-enactments and see the interactive Colonial Village. There will also be food stalls, arts and craft, vintage cars and bikes, antiques and more.

7. Honey Festival
Sunday 6th May, 10am to 4pm
Yagan's Square, Perth

Hosted by the House of Honey from the Swan Valley, the Honey Festival is an annual event dedicated to the most delicious of nature's sweets. And this year – for the first time – it will be held in the city rather than out in the Swan Valley. There will be dozens of activities and events, both fun and educational, plus competitions, face painting and honey bee quiz trail for the kids, plus live music, demonstrations and dancing, this is a fun free day for the whole family.

8. Perth Hills Artisan Market
Saturday 12th May, 9.30am to 3pm
Norris Park, Stoneville

Perfectly timed for Mothers' Day, this fabulous market will showcase some of Perth's best artisans from the Hills, with handmade arts, crafts, jewellery, homewares, fashion and incredible gourmet foods and produce. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the buskers and beautiful location.

9. Maylands Street Festival 120
Sunday 20th May, 12noon – 6pm
Eighth Ave, Maylands

This fabulous street fair will not only host plenty of family-friendly activities but also celebrate the fascinating history of Maylands. There will roving historical entertainment, art, pop-up bars, live music, games and rides plus plenty more. Take a horse and carriage ride or find out about Perth's first airport, the Old Police Station or the old brickworks.

10. Perth Makers Market
Sunday 20th May, 9.30am to 3.30pm
Heathcote, Duncraig Rd, Applecross
