Emerge and enjoy this long weekend
The heat is rising and the weekend is looking to be fabulous, so shake off your winter woollies, climb out of the cocoon and enjoy these great free activities.
Beeswax Wraps are a great alternative to cling wrap for keeping your food fresh and ready to go. 12 to 25 year olds can come along to the Campbelltown Library, 171 Montacute Road, Newton at 12.30 pm on Saturday 5 October 2019 and step their sustainability game in the kitchen. This hands on workshop is free but bookings are essential.
Have you always wanted to compost but not sure where to start? This practical workshop on Saturday 5 October 2019 at 10 am will teach you the simple steps to making your own 'black gold', enriching your soil resulting in a productive and healthy garden.
If you have excess garden produce please bring it along to swap after the workshop. The workshop will be held at the Soldier's Memorial Gardens, western side off Willcox Avenue, Prospect and is free however registration is required.
Take a guided tour of the Gawler Civic Centre on Saturday 5 October 2019 at 10 am.
The guided tour will explore all areas of the centre and provide an understanding of the history of the state heritage-listed building including interesting facts about the facility, its construction and future direction.
Bring the kids and the fur babies to Henley Square for Doggy Day at the Beach. Join in the walk from Henley to Grange, play a game of Simon Says, do the Recall Workshop and enjoy the Doggy Day Fashion Parade. Entry is free.
