There are many events throughout Perth that are "green" and many very interesting ones! Now that the supermarket ban on one use plastics is upon us, this list has some events to do with reducing plastic in our every day lives.
1. HOW I LIVE A PLASTIC FREE LIFEWhen: 25th June from 6.30 om to 7.30 pm
Where: City of Perth Library and History Centre, 573 Hay St, Perth
The City of Perth invite you to "How I Live a Plastic Free Life", a presentation by Lindsay Miles (Treading My Own Path). This is for people starting out on their plastic-free journey. It is a wonderful way to get ready for "Plastic Free July" and the WA Plastic Bag Ban. Come along and learn more about this. Light refreshments will be provided.

2. REDUCING PLASTIC IN EVERYDAY LIVINGWhen: 28th June, from 6 pm to 7.30 pm
Where: Clarkson Library, Corner Ebb Way and Ocean Keys Boulevard, Clarkson
What can we do about plastic? You can be prepared for "Plastic Free July" and find out how to reduce plastic use in the home and while out. This presentation will touch on practical information and misconceptions about plastic recycling. After the presentation, there will be a hands-on activity to make a simple DIY skincare product to take home!

3. CREATING A WASTELESS PANTRYWhen: 3rd July from 10 am to 11.30 am
Where: Cannington Library, Cannington Leisureplex, 233 Sevenoaks St, Cannington
This enlightening talk will be by Jeannie and Amanda both of who live in the Hills. These women are determined to make solutions to the world's expanding plastic pollution problem. They also want to do something to solve the food waste problem at the same time.
They will show us that it Is possible to live an enjoyable and fulfilling life whilst reducing waste. Since 2014, they have dedicated themselves to creating Wasteless Pantry. This is a zero waste concept store where customers can buy their staple items without packaging.

4. GO GREEN WORKSHOP
When: 6th July from 10 am to 11.30 am
Where: Kelmscott Community Garden, 55 River Rd, Kelmscott
This workshop will be presented by Nirala Hunt and Switch your Thinking. You will look at cleaning and personal care products including reading labels, product 'miles', packaging, cruelty-free status, and safety concerns. You will participate in a hands-on demonstration of cheap, effective and easy to make cleaning products.
There will be a "Show and Tell" bag of items to reduce single-use plastics (e.g. beeswax wraps, Boomerang bag etc.). This workshop will also touch on recycling and upcycling.

5. PLASTIC NOT SO FANTASTIC WORKSHOP
When: 10th July from 10 am to 11.30 am
Where: Willetton Library, 39 Burrendah Blvd, Willetton
This presentation will help you to change your thinking and minimise single-use plastics in your home and your life, thereby saving money and the planet. It will be brought to you by the City of Canning and Switch Your Thinking.

6. COPING WITH PLASTIC BAG BAN with Lindsay Miles
When: 13th July from 3 pm to 4 pm
Where: Byford Hall, 9 Clifton St, Byford
This introductory presentation is for people who have minimal prior knowledge of waste and plastic pollution. The workshop encourages participants to think about their current behaviours and introduces ideas to make small changes with big impacts. The focus will be on single-use disposables and the practical alternatives that you have. You will be taught how to focus on practical hints and solutions that are easy to adopt. There will also be discussion on changing the idea of waste and addressing the options of creating new habits.

7. NATURAL CLEANING WITH CHEMISTRY
When: 12th July from 6 pm to 7.30 pm
Where: Wanneroo Public Library, 3 Rocca Way, Wanneroo,
If you want to have a hygienic house without using toxic chemicals and expensive cleaners, then you must attend this workshop! This workshop will help you understand household science and the different natural products that you can use to clean your home. These are all allergy free and environmentally friendly too.

8. GO GREEN HOUSE WORKSHOP
When: 18th July from 6.30 pm to 8 pm
Where: Ruth Faulkner Public Library, 215 Wright St, Cloverdale
This workshop will teach you to look at cleaning and personal care products including reading labels, product 'miles', packaging, cruelty-free status and safety concerns. It is the same workshop as number 3 above, only it is in a different suburb.
Doors open from 6:15 pm and there will be light refreshments provided. You are asked to bring a reusable coffee cup.

9. SOLAR BATTERY STORAGE REVOLUTION
When: 24th July from 6 pm to 7 pm
Where: Mundijong Uniting Church, 18 Paterson St, Mundijong
The Serpentine Jarrahdale Friends group, in partnership with Switch your Thinking, will present solar battery experts CleanNRG. You will learn about the facts and figures, myths and milestones from a Tesla Energy Authorised Re-seller.
