Here's five free October events for you and the family
Spring is a time when Melbourne comes alive, and October is full of gallery exhibits, events, shows, festivals, and family-friendly activities. Check out these five enjoyable ideas for your month, and all are free and ready for you to explore.
ACMI Family Sundays are held on the first Sunday of each month, with the October event on the 7th. This event is a great way to spend time with the family on fun activities to do with superheroes, robots, and video games. The event runs from 10am to 4pm.

'And They All Say Your Name' is an art exhibit on October 3rd to 20th 2018. This exhibition by Talia Smith and Zainab Hikmet explores the subject of longing, distance, and the passing of time and memory. Check out the artworks at Blindside Gallery at Room 14, Level 7, Nicholas Building at 37 Swanston Street Melbourne.

'Raising the Rattler Pole - The Last of the Connies' is a public artwork by David Michael Bell, and serves as a tribute to the W-class 'rattler' tram.Positioned on the corner of Spencer Street and Flinders Street, this replica is finished in a bluestone effect and playfully upended in a dramatic fashion. This artwork is commissioned by the City of Melbourne Public Art Program, and available to see to the end of October 2018.
Comedy at Spleen runs right through October and up until Summer. For some laughs, check out the show on Mondays from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. Spleen Bar is located at 41 Bourke Street in Melbourne.
Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival runs from October 6th to the 8th 2018 at the Crown Melbourne Riverwalk. The event includes live performances, food stalls, and a lantern parade for children after sunset. Activities are on between 10am and 10pm daily, and entry is free.
