Check out these tours, musicians, markets, classes and exhibits in December to kick off your Summer in Melbourne and all are free

The Ned Kelly tour at the State Library outlines the story of Victoria's infamous bushranger. The exhibit includes letters, photos, and historic objects of his life. Meet in the foyer of the State Library of Victoria at 328 Swanston Street in Melbourne, on Wednesday or Saturdays at 1pm (tour takes 1 hour) until December 22nd 2018.

Docklands Sunday Market is on every Sunday from 10am 4pm, with more than 80 local artisans selling handmade goods ranging from arts and crafts to delicious goodies. Check out the stalls at Arts Centre Melbourne's lawn between Hamer Hall and the Theatres Building and along St Kilda Road. A perfect place to pick up gifts for Christmas and other occasions.

Melbourne Town Hall is located at 90-130 Swanston Street in the CBD. Free tours run Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at 11am and 1pm, and take an hour. Tours can be booked at this link

The Australian Music Vault features a permanent exhibition showcasing the Australian music story. There is also an ongoing calendar of performances, education and programs. It's a place to explore your love of music, revisit music moments of your life, and learn new stories of today's Australian music scene. A great way to rock on this Summer. Visit the Arts Centre at 100 St Kilda Road for all the action.

Brazilian Jazz is on Fridays until and throughout December 2018. Dany Maia and her band perform at 1/37 Little Bourke Street. Enjoy a dance to some funky tunes for free.

Writing for Beginners is at at City Library until December 12th 2017. City Library is at 253 Flinders Lane and classes run for two hours from 6pm on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Welcome to the Library Tours continue on Tuesdays until December 15th from 10.30am and take an hour. The State Library Of Victoria is at 328 Swanston St Melbourne. Learn about the vast resources available at the library and how to access them.
