Ahhh November the month of fetes and festivals. I hope you've been saving your pocket money because even though all these events are free, there's lot of fun to be had this month.

1. Kaleidoscope
Back and brighter than ever, Kaleidoscope is Perth's world-class festival of light with incredible illuminated installations, live performances and music, plenty of entertainment and more than 60 food trucks. Family friendly and not to be missed.

When: Thursday 1st November to Sunday 4th food from 5pm, lights 7.30-10.30pm
Where: Joondalup Town Centre

2. A Big Light Out
Part of the Belmont Festival, the Big Light Out is like Kaleidoscope all crammed into a single night there will be incredible illuminations, glow golf, a light and effects show showcasing the best music of the decades, roving entertainers, a silent disco, DJs, glow bodypaint and glitter, an infinity room and much more.

When: Friday 2nd, November 6.30-9.30pm
Where: Garvey Park, Ascot

3. Baldivis Country Fair
The Baldivis Country Fair is a popular family-friendly event with a huge day of live entertainment, rides and attractions, farm animals, face painting, community and commercial stalls, fresh food and more.

When: Saturday 3rd November, 10am to 5pm
Where: Baldivis Primary School, 21 Fifty Rd, Baldivis

4. Firey Fremantle Festival
With a theme of fire, this year's Festival has two major events in November: The all-day event Kraken, incorporates market and food stalls, music and creativity plus an effigy burn at sunset. In the evening, Karla-k Koorling, is a series of fires between river and sea, where the community will gather to enjoy performances of song, spoken word, puppetry or dance, different at every fire.

When: Saturday 3rd November
Where: Fleet St, Fremantle (6-7pm) and Bathers Beach (1-8pm)

5. Kidchella
Apart from the very cute name, Kidchella is a great free festival for families with rides and games, arts and crafts, a special kids DJ, face painting and glitter tattoos, bubbles and bouncy castles, and food stalls that a very kid-friendly. There is a safety theme so expect Constable Care, community safety groups with information stalls plus kids can visit a police car and fire truck.

When: Sunday 4th November, 10am-2pm
Where: Tompkins Park, Canning Highway, Alfred Cove

6. Wembley Primary Fete
The Wembley Primary Fete is so big it only happens every four years, and this year, as usual, it will be huge with a range of market and craft stalls, sideshow rides and games, workshops, a silent disco and other classic fete attractions, plus food stalls and more.

When: Saturday 10th November, 11am-6pm
Where: Wembley Primary School, Grantham St, Wembley
Cost: free entry

7. Mosman Park Craft Festival
Expect to find some of Perth's top artisans and crafters at this big fair, with plenty of goodies for those who are already doing their Christmas shopping. Bring your antique to be assessed, check out the vintage and unique car display, tour the Men's Shed, kids will love to see Rosie O and the other entertainment, buy yummy food and more.

When: Sunday 11th November, 9.30am-2.30pm
Where: Tom Perrott Oval, McCabe Street, Mosman Park
Cost: Almost free, adults $2, kids free

8. Rosalie Primary School Fete
The Rosalie Fete is huge and always worth a visit, with dozens of market stalls, craft, games and rides, music and performances (including The Bank Holidays), gourmet food and much much more.

When: Saturday 17th November, 10am to 3pm
Where: 101 Onslow Road, Shenton Park
Cost: Free

9. West Leederville Primary School Colour Carnival
West Leederville's Colour Carnival will have a central stage area which will be hosting a range of different events such as a watermelon eating contest and tug-of-war, plus water activities, carnival rides and entertainment. Naturally, there will be plenty of market stalls from the classes, food and much more.

When: Sunday 18th November, from 10am to 4pm
Where: West Leederville Primary School, 59 Northwood St, West Leederville

10. Rotary Jacaranda Festival
With the beautiful purple jacarandas in bloom, this is the perfect time to head to Applecross for this favourite festival. You will find over 160 stalls from local crafters, producers and businesses, a gourmet food zone, a kids zone, interactive activities, entertainment, community groups and more.

When: Saturday 24th November, 9.30am-3pm
Where: Applecross Village, Ardross St, Applecross
Cost: Free (though gold coin donation to Rotary is encouraged)
