As the weather grows colder in June, Melbourne heats up with a range of great events and festivals and all for free.
The
Emerging Writers' Festival (EWF) is a place where innovation and creativity are celebrated. The festival brings together over 200 emerging writers to connect with audiences in Melbourne. The Emerging Writers' Festival is held from June 19th to 29th, with many free events around the State Library of Victoria.
One free exhibit that bound to fascinate is
'The Naked Self ' at Arts House. In a gallery setting, you're invited to hear the audio portraits of strangers, who reveal their secrets. Arts House is at North Melbourne Town Hall at 521 Queensberry Street North Melbourne. The exhibition runs from June 9th to June 17th 2018. The gallery is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 8pm, and on Sundays from noon to 4pm.
A free workshop to look out for in June is 'The Thrifty Garden' at Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre at 251 Faraday Street Carlton. This session on June 23rd at 12.30pm shows you how you can get away with not spending a fortune on your garden, through re-use, recycling, and a bit of creativity.
