There are heaps of free events in and around Melbourne
Make Music Day at the Dock
At this event, you can celebrate Make Music Day at the Kathleen Syme Library. This is a global music community event that is celebrated in over 120 countries.

Here you will be able to see local musicians, Nathan Slater and Emily Rosner play live. You can experience vintage synthesizers in the Maker-spaces with MESS, as well as get hands-on learning from expert audio engineers. This will be held in the "state-of-the-art" recording studios, where you can book a time-slot for a rough cut recording.

Organic Lunch w/ Edwin Kwong and Ned Wright-Smith
Two of Melbourne's finest young concert organists will perform a selection of classical organ pieces for your free mid-week enjoyment. Hear tasty morsels from Bach, Faure, Yon, Mulet, Franck, Plaisted, Widor, Dallier, Durufle and Guilmant. These will be performed on the largest Grand Romantic organ in the southern hemisphere - the Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ.

Bloody by Martha Ackroyd Curtis
From the creator of The Video's Suitcase Walk, comes an immersive installation centred around the "realms of the body, the machine mechanisms between the created and us". This is satirical humour, all wound up into a neat dish. It features paintings that bleed, ventricle pumps that stream and a video that will stop you laughing.

Martha Ackroyd Curtis works with many mediums to bring together an exhibition which is both "pure and visually dimensional".

Orange Silent Disco
Wear your orange themed jumpsuit, orange winter woollies or bring your LED dance-wear to this fun-filled silent disco tour. You can explore the Dock and Victoria Harbour Promenade with the energetic Guru Dudu in a silent disco for your senses. Here, you will dance in the glow of flickering lights from the waterfront harbour and stomp to silent beats!

You will learn all about The Dock community hub along the way while you are connecting with other people, and dancing however you want! All ages and abilities are welcome, and you will meet at the waterfront side of the Library at The Dock.

Virtual Reality Free Play Night
The power of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) has enabled us to re-imagine, reconfigure and redesign the world. This is a fascinating thing to do and technologies like this now allow us to experience a different reality in the comfort of an enclosed space.

At this VR Free Play night, you can explore the world of VR through various free games and experiences. It will be a fun evening, and you can get lost in this amazing technology!

The Mediterranean Diet: Recipes from Mediterranean Kitchens
Recipes from Mediterranean Kitchens, by Dr A. Mariani will be launched by Marco Fedi and Caterina Borsato, Melbourne restaurateur and TV personality. His latest book includes more than 100 authentic recipes from various Mediterranean countries, many of them handed down through generations.

Family Funday
Sundays just got a whole lot more fun at Queen Victoria Market with Family Funday! These days will be full of a jam-packed line up of activities including an animal farm, stilt walkers, bubbles, kids' painting, live music, fairy floss, popcorn and prizes, along with all of your usual market favourites.

Walk the Plank at Eureka Skydeck
Here you will race to the finish line or conquer your fear of heights from the comfort of a digital headset. This is The Plank, an exciting virtual reality experience that has visitors balancing on a plank, 285 metres above Melbourne city! This is a great challenge for adults and children as it simulates a treacherous balancing act.
