With the June long weekend and masses of WA Day events, everyone is encouraged to get out of town this month and celebrate free events across the state.

**1-4 June
Jazz By the Bay, South West**
If you are heading south for the long weekend (Margaret River, Dunsborough, Busselton), then make sure you take in some of the 45 free and ticketed events that are part of the popular Jazz by the Bay. With performers from Perth, Australia and the US you will love the huge range of shows and styles.

**2-3 June
Live Light Pinjarra Festival**
Over two big days, the Pinjarra Festival is a fantastic way to spend the long weekend with market stalls, live entertainment and music plus carnival rides and activities for the kids. There are also demonstrations, tours and displays which showcase the extraordinary Pinjarra region.

**2-3 June
A Winter Adventure - YorKids**
If you are heading east instead, there is a huge two-day free event for kids called YorKids, in – you guessed it – York. There are so many great activities including ghost tours, light projections by VJZoo, Junkadelic Brass Band, Zap Circus, campfire cooking demonstrations plus plenty more.

**3 June
WA Day Festival, Elizabeth Quay**
Pray for great weather because this is a huge lineup. Celebrating all that is fabulous about WA, this festival includes local sports stars, all-day music and entertainment, a huge interactive kids' zone with craft, inflatables and a silent disco plus bars and pop-ups aplenty. The festival culminates in a huge fireworks celebration at 7pm.

**3 June
Mud Monster Ball, York**
This long weekend you're really encouraged to get out of town, with so many great free events in our regional areas. The Mud Monsters Ball is being held in York and is a cool way for kids (and adults) to get ridiculously dirty and have fun while they're doing it. Run in conjunction with NaturePlayWA there will be a huge range of muddy activities for kids. This is a self-guided event and although it is free, you are asked to register.

**3-4 June
Celebrate WA Festival and Fireworks, Fremantle**
Fremantle's new inclusive festival 'Celebrate WA' will be taking place over two days of the long weekend, including fireworks over the Fishing Boat Harbour at 6pm on the Sunday. There will be traditional smoking ceremonies and a range of cultural performances, including roving buskers, music and dance. Also, expect plenty of kids activities such as face painting and bouncy castles as well as a suitcase market.

**4 June
WA Day Winter Festival, Mandurah**
The Mandurah foreshore comes to life for this twilight event celebrating the best of Western Australia. Welcoming everyone and inclusive of the diverse global community, there will a large array of cultural activities, workshops, music, dance, drumming and Corroboree. There will also be plenty of Mandurah's best young musical talent, plus a Suitcase market, pop-up shops and stalls, food trucks and more.

**4 June
SOTA, Elizabeth Quay**
SOTA (State of the Art) is a huge free all-ages music festival, with plenty of big names – all of them homegrown. The line-up includes everything from hip-hop to alternative rock and includes West Aussie talent such as Birds Of Tokyo, San Cisco and many more. There will be plenty of food and drink available, plenty of undercover space, chill-out areas, silent disco, photo booth, ping pong and more.

**16 June
Chand Raat Eid Festival, Mt Claremont**
The Chand Raat Eid Festival is a large celebration which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. This wonderful multicultural event is open to everyone and promotes interfaith harmony, understanding and friendship. There will be delicious food plus plenty of stalls selling handicrafts, art, clothes and jewellery, henna, toys and many other traditional items, plus kids' amusements and rides and live multicultural performances.

**17 June
Cruelty-Free Enviro Fayre, Perth**
For an afternoon of vibes and environmentally friendly wares, the first ever Envirofayre will include plenty of music and speakers, market stalls and more. Held at Perth City Farm, this event is both dog and child-friendly, there will be plenty of vegan food vans available. Please bring a gold coin donation.

**24 June
Upmarket, UWA**
One of the original and biggest markets, Upmarket has over 180 of Perth's best and brightest artists, designers, craftsmen and gourmets all under one roof. Expect a full day of food and shopping as well as a dedicated Junior Upmarket in the beautiful grounds of UWA.

Vegan Festival, Cannington**
This free festival will be hosting some of Perth favourite vegan food trucks and market stalls, and you can shop with a clear conscience.
