[SECTION]1 & 2 Dec – Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar[/SECTION]



An increasing popular Christmas event for many locals, the Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar attracts over 12,000 visitors each year. Held in the abundant green gardens which surround Toorak House, you can enjoy a relaxing stroll an amazing array of stalls offering design, textiles, handicrafts, glassware, quirky gifts and Christmas decorations. Kids will be entertained by a bouncy castle and adorable farm animals.

The bazaar also features live Scandinavian and traditional Christmas music as well as a Lucia procession. You can join the draw to win a trip to Sweden for two, including two weeks of a rental Volvo of your choice, sponsored by Volvo Dealer Group Victoria or a private island retreat in Sweden sponsored by Fifty Degrees North. The Saturday Christmas Market is a popular spot to find the perfect locally made festive gift from an exotic range of handmade products for the Christmas season. The ever-popular Myer Christmas Animated Windows returns to the Bourke Street Mall this festive season. It attracts over 1.2 million kids and adults every year. This is the 63rd year and the windows were revealed in early November . You and your family can enjoy browsing the windows and animations based on a renowned and much-loved children's storybook. With the construction at City Square , Santa has decided to head over to Queen Victoria Market . You and your family can take photos sitting on Santa's throne as well as with jolly old Saint Nick in person as he wanders the market. There's also a Christmas Trail around the market which allow you to win prizes by collecting hidden candy canes and kids can post letters to Santa through the Santa's Mailbox located in the Market. Federation Square and Docklands take centre stage as they come alive with Christmas light projections. These animated shows will be projected onto the 'Silence' sculptures along New Quay Promenade in Docklands and create a kaleidoscope of colours, unlike the traditional animation. The show at Federation Square will also include an interactive light projection on the Yarra Building. Light up your Christmas spirit with these free displays. Boroondara Council and Canterbury Council of Churches presents an evening of carols, performances and entertainment for all ages this Christmas season. There will also be face painting, an animal farm, glow products, sausage sizzles, pancakes, strawberries and cream along with hot or cold beverages at the Canterbury Gardens.
