2013 is Canberra's Year to Shine
Canberra is a city full of reasons to celebrate all year long, with a diverse range of festivals for all seasons.
FASHFEST FASHFEST runs from May 1st to 4th and showcases Canberra fashion.
Canberra International Music Festival The Canberra International Music Festival will be held from May 10th to 19th and includes classical, jazz, contemporary and world music. This autumnal festival features 12 world premieres and 36 Australian premieres.
The CSIRO Discovery Centre in Acton open their doors on the weekend of August the 10th for National Science Week Experimentathon. Events include hands-on experiments, a petting zoo, and other family fun.
August 1st marks the start of the month-long Fireside Festival in Canberra. Fireside is full of winter-warming experiences; from degustation dinners, wine tastings, and entertaining performances.
DANscienCE Festival: where dance and science meet National Science Week runs from August 10th to 18th, and DANscienCE brings together Australian dance artists and scientists in an exploration of these two fields.
Floriade Floriade runs from the September 14th to October 13th, and is a national celebration of Spring. It showcases one million flowers in bloom, set in Canberra's Commonwealth Park is a free event, Expect over 400,000 visitors from everywhere.

100 Days of Glass A festival that celebrates the centenary of Canberra and all that is glass is called 100 Days of Glass. Events include exhibitions, classes, residencies, talks, and demonstrations throughout the entire year.
Canberra County Music Festival The Spring festivals wrap up with the Canberra Country Blues & Roots Festival from the 15th to the 17th of November. The Festival supports Country Music in all its diversity including blues and roots within the community through performances, exhibitions, workshops, and forums that encourage regional artists.
Movie Extra Tropfest 2013 This festival kick-starts Summer, with screenings on the 8th of December 2013. Tropfest is held at Stage 88 at Commonwealth Park, and includes live music, food and drink, and 16 finalist short film entries.
