The warmer weather heralds the birth of new life on the farm. What better time than now to escape the city, appreciate the fresh country air and enjoy some farming experiences? The following working farms offer a variety of authentic activities that are suitable for all members of the family.

Haigslea EWE Nique Hobby Farm
187 Missigs Road, Haigslea

Haigslea EWE Nique Hobby Farm welcomes the public to relax and unwind at their 20 acre rural setting. Farmer Dave and Penny will introduce you to the resident animals including alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens and geese. Give them a pat and a feed whilst Farmer Dave regales you with interesting facts and jovial stories about these creatures.

Grab a hay bale and enjoy a tea or coffee from the onsite Baa Baa Coffee Shed. A selection of homemade treats are also available to purchase, my personal favourites are the raspberry coconut muffins and the classic scones with jam and cream.

Visits can be booked for 9:00am or 10:30am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $5 per person, feed buckets are $3 each or $10 for four.

Naughty Little Kids
1531 Ipswich Boonah Road, Peak Crossing

Naughty Little Kids produces goat's milk gelato using fresh milk from their farm and other local ingredients.

Farm visits provide opportunities to feed and pat the baby goats, milk a goat by hand and discover how to make cheese at home. Of course, you will also be able to sample their delicious gelati and cheeses.

Farm tours are held every Sunday, with sessions beginning at 1:05pm, 2:15pm, and 3:25pm.
Tickets must be purchased online . Entry is $7.50 per child (1-17 years), $15 per adult or $37.50 per family (2 adults and up to 6 children).

Deathrow Unchained Animal Rescue

Bring the family to Deathrow Unchained Animal Rescue for some farm fun and fresh air. Enjoy animal encounters including feeding, patting and even hugging some of the resident animals.

Hint: An image and personal story of each animal resident is provided on the website.

This venue also offers a mini-golf course and two playgrounds. If you need to take a break, relax with a purchase from the onsite café.

Members of the public can visit the farm 9:00am-3:00pm Wednesday to Sunday. Entry is $14 per child (3-14 years), $18.50 per concession/student, $25 per adult or $75 per family (2 adults, 2 children). Mountview Alpaca Farm
2503 Lamington National Park Road, Canungra

Mountview Alpaca Farm is currently home to 70 alpacas. You can visit and feed them any time during open hours! Purchase some feed to keep the children (and yourself) entertained and laughing for some time. There are many opportunities for some great photographs, including the iconic #alpacaselfie .

Avid fans can make a booking to take an alpaca for a walk, or even out on a picnic.

Extend your stay by exploring the beautiful grounds, in particular the banks of Canungra Creek and the vineyards.

Mountview Alpaca Farm is open 10:00am-3:00pm weekdays and 9:30am-4:00pm weekends. Entry is free, see website for prices of various alpaca experiences.
