I'm a Sunshine Coast journalist who jumped out of a lengthy mainstream media career 18 months ago to do some hearty work for the soul. A pescatarian sharing with you her secrets on our little piece of coast paradise.

WHETHER you're looking to to enjoy some of the infamous Mexican distilled spirit with a night on the town or you're knocking back the OJ in preparation for the massive day ahead, I share with you the best reasons to see the sun rise on the Sunshine Coast with my what's on guide for the month of NOVEMBER.


NIK'S PIK - "GOLDEN DAYS FESTIVAL" With an avalanche of festivals to choose from, Golden Days is becoming a standout of entertainment for the entire family AND its consideration for Mum and Dad's back pocket. The final day of the three day music/art/skate/BMX extravaganza is FREE. The three-day festival begins with a world movie premiere on Friday, November 16, featuring Emmy Award-winning director Justin Krumb's new film TransparentSea. The main music program will be held on Saturday at the Coolum Sports Complex, headlined by Something For Kate, Josh Pyke and one of New Zealand's favourite bands, Fat Freddy's Drop. SUNDAY, November 4

* The Noosa Triathlon This year marks the 30th birthday of one of the biggest triathlon events in Australia. It attracts over 8,500 triathlon competitors and over 10,000 across the whole festival. The course includes a 1500m swim in a sheltered canal, a 40km cycle in an undulating road course through the area surrounding Noosa on the Sunshine Coast and a 10km run through Noosa Sound leading back to Noosa Queensland. 6.30am Noosa Heads Lion Park, NOOSA HEADS.F, ME, MA
