SLAMMERS OR SMOOTHIES - TAKE YOUR PICK!

WHETHER you're looking to to enjoy some of the infamous Mexican distilled spirit with a night on the town or you're knocking back the OJ in preparation for the action-packed day ahead, I share with you the best reasons to see the sun rise on the Sunshine Coast with my what's on guide for the month of APRIL.

NIK'S PIK - Anzac Day Services - various Sunshine Coast locations
My Dad is my hero. And he's one of Australia's too - for reasons too extensive and too varied to list here. He didn't score a century in an Aussie test match and he didn't win gold at the Olympics. My Dad is a Vietnam Veteran and this year - like every one for the last 35 - I will get up well before the sun and stand side by side fellow Aussies paying their respects to the heroes of today and yesteryear who fought to free people around the world from tyranny. Granted, people have varying, and often well-informed views on the conflicts that have taken place around the world and this nation's role in them - an incredible privilege we have that many countries ravaged by war do not enjoy. But I also enjoy a special privilege in this blog of sharing you with my personal pick for each and every month - and so I will forego my usual light-hearted exchange for a solemn tribute to the incredible courage of our current and ex-service men and women, just like my dad.
