TEQUILA on the town? Or a breaky OJ before a mountain climb? My monthly column 'Tequila Sunrise' is the best of both worlds. As the days get shorter and time is of the essence, here are my top reasons to get out and witness a spectacular Sunshine Coast sunrise - whether you are heading home or just getting started....
NIK'S PIK: AS the weather cools, it's typical to normally assume that so would the events and engagements on your calendar. Well, not on our beloved Sunshine Coast.
I don't know when I have seen an April this chock-a-block full of options on these glorious Autumn days. From festivals, concerts, school holiday activities, educational commemorations and workshops, this is a month to jump in feet first and get your hands dirty. As you can guess from this month's pic, I'm a sucker for Easter so I'll be looking to combine some of my favourite things - family, days off, seafood, chocolate and the beach. (Love my home!)
NB: Don't forget in amongst all the fun - to remember our soldiers - both serving and veteran on April 26 for Anzac Day!

* "ANZAC DAY" - IT is, for me, the nation's most significant national occasion: yesterday, today and tomorrow. From dawn services to parades, there's no excuse not to get down to pay your respects with the endless number of events at every possible location - for you to pay tribute to our heroic soldiers. Check local council and RSL guides closer to the date for dawn service times and marches which you can find all across the coast. But Maroochydore is where hubby and I pay our respects. There's something so poignant about the magical surrounds of the surf and sand and the thousands that gather at the Cotton Tree Cenotaph. Having attended services extensively over the coast, for me I have found there is no place like the Cotton Tree commemorations.
A) Dawn Service - 4:28AM The Cenotaph, The Esplanade, COTTON TREE.
B) Anzac Day march - 8:30AM (ASSEMBLE 8am) Parade through Memorial Avenue then onto the Cenotaph, The Esplanade, COTTON TREE.
C) Anzac Day service - 9:00AM Cenotaph, The Esplande, COTTON TREE.
(Maroochy RSL will open for regular trade at 1pm)
