The Sydney Royal Botanic Garden holds many events during the year. It is such a wonderful place to visit and these events are an added bonus. All the events will be held at The Royal Botanic Garden, Mrs Macquaries Road, Sydney.
[b]Cookaroo Flow art installation[/b]
This is a free event which runs until 3rd February 2019. It is an inventive new underwater audio installation and artwork just installed at the Royal Botanic Garden to celebrate the poetry in the language created by First Nations students from Sydney and the NT.

[b]Aboriginal Heritage Tour [/b]
This has also started and will run till 30th January. Learn about the diverse history and culture of the Aboriginal people of Australia.
Once upon a time, the garden was an important ceremonial site for many of the Sydney Aboriginals. At this event, you can experience Farm Cove and its surrounds and learn about traditional lifestyles. Hear how they obtained bush foods, fresh water and a plentiful supply of seafood from the harbour.
You will meet at the Garden Shop/Information Booth on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10 am. The cost is $41 and you can book

[b]Ghostly Gardens[/b]
On 8th February is a twilight adventure through the Botanic Garden in this spooky storytelling event. This is a rare event as you will be in the garden after closing hours and you'll wander along tree-lined paths and creep past gloomy ponds. You will also go through eerie grottos and hear the spooky and kooky stories of the Garden's past.

[b]Lion and Dragon Dance Performance for Lunar New Year[/b]
This will be on 7th February, from 12 noon to 12.30 pm. Yau Kung Mun is a southern style of Kung Fu which was developed in the Shaolin Temple of China from the tiger and leopard styles more than 1400 years ago.
You will be able to watch this fascinating dance during the lunar new year and it is a free event. Find out more about it

[b]Tour of the HSBC Oriental Garden[/b]
This tour will be on 8th February, from 10 am to 12.30 pm. It is another event to celebrate Lunar New year. You will explore the Oriental Gardens and hear about the fascinating characters behind the plants of the HSBC Oriental Garden. You will also learn all about the evolution of this garden.

[b]Aboriginal Bush Food Experience[/b]
Learn all about how the Aboriginals get their food straight from the bush. This will be held on 16th February, from 1 pm.
You will be able to taste and see demonstrations which show you how to incorporate native Australian bush foods with everyday ingredients. Use a traditional coolamon to gather seasonal fruits, seeds, berries, native vegetables and plants from around the Royal Botanic Garden and then learn about traditional food preparation methods and taste these recipes!
