1. Melbourne Cup Carnival A week of Spring Racing, with the unmissable race that stops the nation – the Emirates Melbourne Cup, on Tuesday November 4th, at Flemington race track. 2. Suzuki Night Market
The original and the best, the Suzuki Night Market runs every Wednesday night, 5pm-10pm, from November 5th to March 26th (excluding December 25th & January 1st 2014), at the Queen Victoria Market. Shop for locally made clothing, jewellery, arts and crafts, and prints; excite your taste buds with hawker style food from around the world; relax with a glass of wine, cocktail, beer or sangria; and be entertained by talented local musicians. 3.Taste of Melbourne Foodie's paradise, Taste of Melbourne returns to Albert Park, from Thursday November 13th- Sunday November 16th. Sample food from Melbourne's top restaurants, drink wine from local vineyards, take part speciality master-classes, be inspired by Masterchef demonstrations, and enjoy speaking to artisans while browsing and treating yourself to their finest produce. Tickets from $25.
Watch top polo players compete for the National Polo League for the Waterford Trophy, at Polo in the City. Held in major Australian cities; in Melbourne on November Saturday November 29th, 11.30am-5.30pm, at Albert Park. A day of feature matches, mingling, fine food, champagne and whiskey, and entertainment throughout. Tickets from $98.50.
5. Night Noodle Market Birrarung Marr will be transformed into an Asian Hawker-style night market. The Age Good Food Month Night Noodle Market hosts over 50 food stalls and food trucks showcasing the diversity of Asian cuisine, a selection of bars, great music and a lively atmosphere. From 5pm weekdays, and 4pm on weekends, November 14th-30th. FREE entry.
