The world's most liveable city presents an outstanding array of events, something for everyone throughout August. Here are my top 5 tips for the month.

Winter Night Markets at QVM continue on Wednesday nights until 29th August. This FREE event features street food stalls, fashion, homewares and general merchandise traders along with musicians and other live entertainment.

Melbourne International Film Festival is on again from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 19th August at venues right around Melbourne.

MIFF showcases international feature films, arthouse productions, documentaries, short features and a range of family-friendly and kids movies.

A Celebration of Bernstein is a production by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra celebrating the music of the great Leonard Bernstein.

Two programs will be staged at Hamer Hall, the first Bernstein Classics on Wednesday 15th August and the second Bernstein On Broadway on Sunday 185h August.

Meet The Makers , a Cellarmasters presentation will be staged at Peninsula C, Shed 14, Central Pier, Docklands on Friday 17th August between 6 PM and 8.30 PM.

Take the opportunity to taste a broad range of wines and talk to the individual winemakers when Cellarmasters presents labels like Briar Ridge, Krondorf, Mockingbird Hill, Neil McGuigan, Ribbon Hills and Wordsmith all showcasing up to 60 of their award-winning wines and served with delicious canapes.

Melbourne Art Fair will be staged at 111 Sturt Street, Southbank from Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th August.

The fair showcases 40 galleries presenting works by some of the newest and exciting young artists in Australasia. It is the main event of Melbourne Art Week and presents a program of talks, tours, events and performances celebrating contemporary art and artists.



Session times are Wednesday 1st 5 PM to 8 PM, Thursday 2nd midday to 5 PM, Friday 3rd midday to 9 PM, Saturday 4th 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday 5th 11 AM to 4 PM.
