Armadale and surrounds have a very large population and there is always something to do in this area.

This list will give you an idea of the many things you can choose to do.

[b]1. Out of the Box Learners with Fiona Caruso[/b]
Some children do not cope well in their school achievements and local author of [i]"Out of the Box Learners"[/i], Fiona Caruso, gives some simple tips and ideas for parents to help their children who do not achieve, or fit into the school system.

These include where you can find help and what to do while waiting for these appointments. As places are limited, bookings are essential, and you can make them at the Eventbrite website.



This is a free event, refreshments will be available and it will be on Friday 9th February, 2018 from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm. It will be held at the Armadale Library, 10 Orchard Avenue.

[b]2. 6 WEEK - WEEKEND FITNESS CHALLENGE**
Learn to become stronger, more confident, and be empowered. Take the first step towards taking control of your health and this programme is for all fitness levels.

It will be held on Saturday, 10th February 2018 from 8 am to 9 am, at the Armadale Arena, 4 Townley Street, Armadale. Cost is $288 with FREE two-month gym membership included, saving you $118, and for enquiries phone: (08) 9394 5840.

[b]3. BABY RHYME TIME**
At this event, you and your baby can "sing along" to favourite rhymes and learn new tunes to amuse and educate your baby at home. It is suitable for babies aged zero to two years and siblings are welcome.

This event is on the second Wednesday of the month, and the next one will be on Wednesday 14th February, 2018 from 10.30 am to 11 am. It is a FREE event and will be held at the Kelmscott Library, 2784 Albany Highway, and contact phone number is (08) 9394 5810.

[b]4. NOVEL NIBBLES: DAYS**
If you have read a good book lately, join this group to discuss your books - like a book club!

You can read new and different authors, try another genre, or even perhaps rediscover some old favourites. Light refreshments will be provided at these sessions, and bookings are not required.



This event will be on every second Tuesday of the month, with the next one being on Tuesday, 13th February, 2018 from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. It is a FREE event and will be held at the Kelmscott Library, 2784 Albany Highway.

[b]5. GREAT COCKY COUNT WORKSHOP**
This is hosted by Bird Life WA and the City of Armadale and you will learn about the black-cockatoo, its behaviour and threats, plus instructions on how to do the count which will be on 8th April at sunset.



It is on 8th March from 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the City of Armadale, 7 Orchard Ave, Armadale and to register please email: [email protected].

[b]6. AFRICAN DRUMMING**
Paul Osei Kofi is a percussionist, teacher and drum maker and he is originally from Ghana, West Africa. Join Paul for an interactive, entertaining and informative workshop, where you'll be introduced to some of the music and cultures of West Africa.



Places are limited and bookings are therefore essential, even though this is a FREE event. It will be on Wednesday, 14th February, 2018 from 10.30 am to 11.30 am, and will be held at the Seville Grove Library, 78 Champion Drive, Seville Grove. For bookings please go to the Eventbrite website.

[b]7. FREE YOGA IN THE PARK**
This is on both in the morning and the evening.

Bring some water, a yoga mat if you have one, and a towel.



It will be on Monday, 19th February, 2018 from 6.30 am to 7.30 am, and again at 6 pm to 7 pm. It will be held at Memorial Park, in Armadale, and you can find out more by calling: (08) 9394 5840.

[b]8. JEFF APTER PRESENTS: HIGH VOLTAGE - ANGUS YOUNG**
Jeff Apter has written biographies on the Finn Brothers, the Bee Gees, Jeff Buckley and Keith Urban.

His latest book is the bestselling [i]High Voltage[/i], which went to the top in its first week of release. It is a fascinating biography of Angus Young.

You can meet Jeff and enjoy the stories, and as places are limited you will need to book at the Eventbrite website.

It is a FREE event and will be on Monday 19th February 2018 from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Armadale Library, 10 Orchard Avenue, and refreshments will be available.

[b]9. PREGNANCY AND POSTNATAL YOGA: PREGNANCY YOGA**
There are two different sessions of this yoga - postnatal being with baby, and pregnancy yoga. These can have a range of benefits, including "mindfulness, improves sleep, relieves tension, increases strength and stamina and aids in recovery".

They are suitable for beginners to advanced, and there is a creche for siblings, however, limited places are available for the classes, so make sure you register now.

They will be held on Tuesday, 20th February 2018 from 9.15 am to 10.30 am, and postnatal with baby will be the same day from 10.45 am to 12 noon. They will be held at Armadale Arena, 4 Townley Street, and the 6-week programme costs $112. For bookings phone (08) 9394 5840.

10. BLOGGING FOR BEGINNERS
Amanda Kendle, an expert in the "blogging" field, and is a passionate blogger, who will share her knowledge on how to get started.

This will be held on Wednesday, 21st February, 2018 from 6 pm to 7 pm, at the Armadale Library, Shop 64 / 10 Orchard Avenue. This is a FREE event and to register, you can go to the Eventbrite site, or phone (08) 9394 5125 - refreshments of wine and cheese will be available.

[b]11. GENEALOGY GROUPS - FAMILY TREE GROUP**
If you are interested in your family genealogy, then these FREE groups are for you.



They are held on the last Thursday of each month and the next one will be 22nd February, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm at Birtwistle Local Studies Library, Shop 64 / 10 Orchard Avenue. Phone number for enquiries is (08) 9394 5641.

[b]12. THE MANSE - MORE THAN A RESTAURANT**
The Manse is now a well-known restaurant, however, it was once associated with the Armadale Congregational Church and had connections to the pioneering "Saw Family".

Local historian and member of the Armadale District Historians, Jeff Green, will share some of the information about The Manse as it used to be.
