Melbourne has many events on this Valentine's Day; celebrate love with a significant other, family, a group of friends, or on your own, with these top events!



1. Lock In The Love
Pledge your eternal love, remember a loved one or celebrate a milestone in support of the Heart Foundation, from 9th to 14th February.

For $10, the Heart Foundation will provide you with a padlock and a heart-shaped fob. Write your message of love and lock it on the Lock in the Love installation at Queensbridge Square, Southbank and Collins Square, CBD.

2. Dragon's Awakening Ceremony, Chinese New Year 2016
Want a lively and energetic celebration with huge crowds? Head to Chinatown, CBD, for 12 hours of free entertainment including lion dances, music, acrobats, and loud drumming music, celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Monkey !

Celebrations run from 10am-10pm, Sunday 14th February 2016, at China Town, Little Bourke Street. The Dragon's Awakening Ceremony begins at 10am, starting in Little Bourke Street, and parading through the streets of Melbourne.
3. Ice Skating | O'Brien Group Arena
For first timers and experienced skaters, get into the rink at O'Brien Group Arena. A fun environment where people of all ages can enjoy ice skating safely, on 2 rinks, 7 days a week!

The temperature is a cool 16°C so make sure you come prepared with warm clothes (jackets, gloves, beanies) particularly for people sitting in the stadium. For skaters, wear layers as you will warm up after a few laps around the rink. Skates and helmets are available for hire.

Adult skate and hire from $26 ; open 9am-10pm. Four sessions of free lessons on February 14th. Located at 104 Pearl River Road Docklands 3008, a romantic, fun way to spend Valentine's Day.

4. Live Flamenco Dance Show
Live Flamenco Dance Show every Thursday and Sunday evening at Vamos Bar, 1st Floor 37 Little Bourke St Melbourne.

An intimate evening of live flamenco music and dance in the heart of Melbourne. Featuring Alejandro Florez (Solquemia) - spanish guitar, Aya Kitaoji (SENES flamenco) - dance and percussion.

Tickets are $12 at the door or $8 pre-sale. Or come in for a 5 course tapas meal and reserved seating for TWO for only $40 each. 7.30pm - 9.30pm.

Special Valentine's Day America Do Sul Brazilian Jazz on Saturday 13th February from 8:30pm-11:00pm. Music, 5 course dinner, and drink for $75pp. Pre-purchase your tickets at www.vamos.net.au

5. Andy Warhol | Ai Weiwei
This international exhibition explores the significant influence of Andy Warhol and Ai Weiwei on modern art and contemporary life, focusing on the parallels, intersections and points of difference between the two artists' practices.

The exhibition #exhi_tab_key_works ">presents more than 300 works , including major new commissions, immersive installations and a wide representation of paintings, sculpture, film, photography, publishing and social media.

6. St Kilda Festival
Join Australia's largest free outdoor music festival, showcasing Australian artists and talents on the Main Stage against the beautiful St Kilda foreshore. St Kilda Festival hosts a mix of live music, dance, carnival rides, sports, market stalls, activities, extended business trading and entertainment for all ages.

Festival Sunday, 14th February, The Esplanade St Kilda, all day and night from 10am through to 11pm. Leading up to Festival Sunday, enjoy Live n Local from February 7th through to 13th, where local venues and locations host free live performances and gigs.

7. Moonlight Cinema
Pack a picnic and head to the Moonlight Cinema, at the Royal Botanic Gardens' Central Lawn.

The 2015-16 Moonlight Cinema Summer Season runs from December 2015 through to March 2016, with classic favourites, new releases, and advanced screenings showing every night except Mondays. View the full program here.
