There are plenty of courses to take at Red Hill
Red Hill is a small rural community, which is located in the Mornington Peninsula. This is about an hour's drive south of Melbourne and it is in the Shire of Mornington Peninsula. The population forecast for this year is around 164,200.
This list is all the events on at the Green Olive at Red Hill, 1180 Mornington Flinders Road, Main Ridge. The events are mainly for children but there are also a few for adults.
Green Olive at Red Hill is a whole farm experience. Here they grow olives, grapes, herbs and vegetables in the lovely wine-growing region of the Mornington Peninsula.
They also have sheep, chickens and pigs, and use fresh produce from local farmers to create a range of tapas and wine.
School Holidays - Meet the Farm This will be held on 9th July at 10.00 am.
It is for children to have fun and feed the chicken and ducks, collect the eggs, pat Gracie the pony, and play with the Pisa, who is the friendly Maremma dog.
Pasta Making Cooking Experience
This is on 7th July at 8.50 am.
Pasta is so popular with both young and old people alike. This course is about everything pasta.
You will learn about the types of flour used in pasta dough making, the equipment you will need, and ingredients used in filled pastas such as tortellini.
You will be shown how to mix the ingredients and then knead, rest, roll and cut the dough to whatever shape you wish. This is a "hands-on, step by step class" which will also cover pasta fillings that you can hand pick from the farm garden.
You will also learn about all different olive oil and how to best use this great ingredient in your pasta, and other cooking.
Once the cooking is finished, you can relax and admire the view of the vineyard, kitchen garden and ducks on the dam whilst enjoying the food that you have just made, with a glass of Kelpie Bridge wine.
