So many interesting events to attend in April
This is a list of the interesting events in Perth for April, 2018 - scroll down and see if there are any that you would like to attend, as there are some great ones many of which are also "green" events.

This will be held on 30th April, 2018 from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm at The Thornlie Public Library, 1 Culross Ave, Thornlie.

Join the "seed saving movement" with environmental educator, Stacey Smithers.

At this workshop, you will learn about all aspects of seed saving, including selection and the proper way to store seeds. You'll also have the opportunity to practise simple seed saving techniques.

This Beyond Petrol Seminar will be held on 14th April, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at The Riverton Library, 67 Riley Rd, Riverton.

This is part of a series presented by the City of Canning and the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) WA branch.

The aim is to inform, prepare and encourage the community to grasp the Electric Vehicle revolution, which will happen in the not too distant future.

The seminars will be humorous as the Beyond Petrol Team highlight how the future of driving is electric and it is a free event. The presenters are not sponsored by any product manufacturers so this will be an unbiased talk.

Some of the things discussed will be:
Impacts of fossil fuels
How electric vehicles work
Near future innovations, in particular advancements in battery technology
How far can they travel before recharging
Outline features of current electric vehicles available
Inspect a range of electric vehicles and talk to AEVA owners

Bookings are required and you must register here.

During this workshop, Shani Graham from Ecoburbia will discuss why a greener cleaning regime is so important, and Shani will also explain how to tell what is in the cleaning products we use. You will also learn about some basic ingredients in homemade cleaners and how to make your own cleaning products.

You are required to bring three large jars to take samples home to try, as you will be making a disinfectant; an all-purpose cleaner and a bathroom tile cleaner.

You can register here.

This will be on Thursday 19th April, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Cannington Library, Cannington Leisureplex, 233 Sevenoaks St, Cannington.

"Switch Your Thinking" will discuss strategies to help reduce your food waste and explain how you can minimise this household waste!

You will learn about the problem of food waste and how you can alleviate this problem from your kitchen, as we throw about four million tonnes of food away every year.

When you throw out food, you are also discarding all of the water, fertiliser, fuel and energy that were used to get that food to your plate. By changing a few things we do, you will be able to make a big difference to your emissions and your household budget.

It is a free event and you can register here.
