I'm sure that everyone in Canberra has noticed the rows of Easter eggs at the supermarket, that have been sitting there for months since after Christmas. If you are anything like me, you have been steadily ignoring them all this time - thinking that Easter is still a long way away. As the days tick by in March however, Easter is coming up sooner than we think. The Easter long weekend is now officially on its way and there is a multitude of fun events for kids popping up all over the region. The city will soon be bursting at the seams with Easter egg hunts, Easter movie events, Easter markets and more!
After writing my recent article Top Easter Events for Kids in Canberra, 2018 (Part 1), there are now even more events to add to the jam-packed list. Here are 10 more Easter-themed events to check out across the city, with an interesting array of Easter bunny costumes and a whole lot of eggs to be found...

1/ Westfield Woden shopping centre will once again be hosting Kids Pantry Cooking School, who will be running a Easter Cupcake Decorating activity on Saturday, 17th March between 11am - 2pm. This is a free activity and there is no need to book - just drop in and enjoy decorating and then eating your creation! See here for details.
2/ The Queanbeyan Market will be holding their monthly market on Sunday, 18th March and the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance - after hiding over 1,000 eggs! Enjoy the community feeling of these local markets, just a quick hop across the border into NSW. See here for details.
3/ Peter Rabbit Family Fun Day Screening will be held at Limelight Cinema Tuggeranong on Sunday, 18th March with all tickets including a mini chocolate bunny and kids Easter craft activities. There will also be prizes for the best Easter costume! See here for details. This movie will be seen in all of Canberra's movie cinema's after this date and features Australia's Rose Byrne and the voice of Margot Robbie, as Flopsy. See the YouTube trailer below.

4/ Bunnings stores around Canberra will be hosting an Easter Family Night on Thursday, 22nd March between 6pm - 8pm. Each venue has different events and activities, such as a visit from the Easter bunny, craft activities, jumping castle, merry-go-round and even a petting zoo! See the details (listed under DIY Workshops and Activities) for Gungahlin, Belconnen, Fyshwick and Tuggeranong. These events are free, however the larger stores require booking, so check your local Bunnings website for details.
5/ Kids Easter Cooking Class at the Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets will be held on Saturday, 24th March between 10:30am - 11:30am. This is a free activity, however you will need to register. See here for details.
6/ Majura Park Shopping Centre will be hosting the Easter Bunny for a Meet and Greet between 10am - 1pm on the weekend of 24th and 25th March. The first 500 kids will receive a free Easter activity book from the Easter bunny. See here for details.
7/ Cooleman Court Shopping Centre in Weston Creek will be holding an afternoon of Easter fun on Thursday, 29th March between 2pm - 5pm. Meet the Easter Bunny, get your face painted and enjoy Easter-themed crafts. See here details.
Easter Long Weekend
8/ Tuggeranong Hyperdome shopping centre will have the Easter Bunny walking around handing out eggs on Saturday, 31st March between 3:30pm - 5:30pm. See here for details.
9/ The Great Corin Forest Easter Egg Hunt of 2018 will be held at Corin Forest Mountain Retreat, 45 minutes from Canberra's city centre. This popular and free event will be held every day between Good Friday and Easter Monday at 11am and 1pm. Last year they were surprised by the amount of Easter egg hunters who arrived over the weekend, so this year they are holding session times so that everyone will walk away with a bundle of eggs. There will be 150 places per session, so get in quick to secure your spot! See here for details and how to book a session time.
10/ Bunnings will be having free Easter Workshops on Saturday, 31st March and Sunday, 1st April at either 11am or 12pm, depending on the store. Bookings are required. Scroll down to the DIY Workshops and Activities for Bunnings Gungahlin, Belconnen, Fyshwick and Tuggeranong.
