Whether you are looking to head out on Date Night with your partner, are wanting to celebrate a special anniversary, or simply going out with someone new for the first time, there are many places around Perth that are simple and sweet for that special night out! Here are a few ideas for a special outing that vary in cost depending on your preference!

An Evening Picnic in Kings Park
Picnics have a charm that has stood the test of time. Simple and sweet, a picnic is a great idea that has a lower cost, but takes extra effort and care, which goes a long way in any dating scenario! Kings Park is a beautiful location, with many expansive lawns on which to roll out a blanket and enjoy delicious snacks with your love. Sunset from the memorial area is beautiful, and you can watch the city light up as the evening approaches.

To bring:
-A rug/picnic blanket
Bug repellent (mosquitos can be out and about often in the evening!)
A cooler bag/basket for your tasty goodies! Some easy go-to picnic snacks include olives, crackers, dip, soft cheese, deli meats, sandwiches/paninis and pretzels

Lunch, Wine and Chocolate Tasting in the Swan Valley

Now if you are looking for an idea for a weekend lunch date, you can't go wrong in heading to the Swan Valley! The Valley is the gem of the eastern suburbs and the perfect place to spend a very special day!

Many wineries offer free wine tastings, which is fun, delicious, and cost friendly! Finding a restaurant or cafe that does both wine tastings and delicious food is a win-win, and my recommendations include Carilley Estate, Houghtons Winery and Edgecombe Brothers Winery. Trying your wines before you settle on one to accompany your meal can be a fun activity, and adds a bit of flair to your day! These wineries also have beautiful outdoor areas and gardens to enjoy on a warm day.

Lastly, the Margaret River Chocolate Factory is a must-stop off for dessert. With free tastings of chocolate buttons and chocolate liqueur at the cellar next door, you can't go wrong!

Please remember to drink responsibly, and if you plan to have a few, organise a ride with a friend, or better yet, call an Uber!)

Pizza at ZigZag

A very low-key and relaxed meal with a view can be found a short way out from the hubbub of the suburbs, up to the beautiful lookout of ZigZag in Kalamunda. Feel free to pack a picnic or pick up a pizza and head up into the hills to enjoy a sunset view overlooking the city. Watch the sky transform from blue to orange, pink and purple as the gentle evening light illuminates the horizon. Enjoy a relaxed evening on a picnic blanket or sitting in the back of the car with the boot up. Bliss!

Beachside Bar and Dinner

There's no doubting that Perth beaches are some of the best in the world. Enjoy the peaceful setting of pearly white sands and blue waves crashing as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. Beachside bars and restaurants can be found dotted around Scarborough, and provide the perfect setting for an evening of dinner, drinks and laughter! Scarborough Beach Bar and El Grotto are some personal favourites!

Leederville Classic: Dinner and Dancing

Leederville comes alive on date night, and the hubbub provides for an evening of lighthearted fun! If you are after a casual meal you will be spoiled for choice with the plethora of local eatery's living in the main heart of Leederville. If you after something a bit more lively, you can wine and dine at The Garden, and then head over to Hip-E-Club or Niche for a night of dancing!

Fremantle Delight

Fremantle has long been a favourite place for a night out, and is an even better location for a date! Quaint restaurants are dotted all around town, and dinner can easily be complemented with a ride of the ferris wheel ($20 for a couple) and a trip to the Luna Cinema to see a fun movie. Luna is a super quaint cinema in which you can order a cheeky beer or wine at the cinema bar to bring in! Winning!

Final tip- be sure to check Scoopon and Groupon online for some extra special dinner deals around town! These are a great opportunity to try somewhere new, and score some fantastic deals on dinner and drinks!

Happy date night!
