Flicks for Fathers
Taste in movies is a very individual thing. Some dads are into comedy, while others are into horrors or action. Below is my top ten list of movies from all different genres in which the 'Dad' plays an important role. I'm sure there's one on the list to please your dad on his special day.

10. Armageddon (1988)

An action/ thriller about a deadly comet which is hurtling towards Earth to end life as we know it. Armageddon stars Bruce Willis as the father and the hero of the movie. Other stars include Liv Tyler who plays his daughter and Ben Affleck, who plays her love interest. On the discovery of the giant comet, NASA recruits a team of deep core drillers to attempt to avert the impending disaster.

9. National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985)

The Griswolds are going on holiday and their dad, played by the hilarious Chevy Chase, is determined to make sure everyone has a good time – whether they want to or not. The family's comical trip through Europe is a laugh a minute journey.

8. My Life (1993)

A tear jerker of a movie about a terminally ill father who videos memoirs for his son. Michael Keaton plays a father who has cancer and his wife, played by Nicole Kidman, is pregnant with their first child. Not wanting his child to grow up without memories of a father, he records home movies that teach his son such things as how to cook, how to ride a bike, and how to shave.

2. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

Based on a true story about a business man named Christopher Gardner, this story takes you on a see saw ride of a man who had everything, then loses everything and attempts to gain everything back again. And he does all this with his son in tow. A feel good movie which shows you that with positive thinking and hard work, you will succeed.

1. The Godfather (1972)

Don Corleone is the patriarch of a New York mafia family who puts family first above everything and everybody else. With an all-star cast including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton this is a classic movie that shouldn't be missed.

My dad's into things about space, so he'd probably like Armageddon. I personally like Mrs. Doubtfire best.
