Top Craft Breweries in Sydney

Sydney's Craft Brew scene is booming as the coffee industry did around 5 years back. A bustling culture with more a hippy feel than traditionally Bavarian.
Accompanied by great food like double beef burgers oozing with cheese, spicy chicken wings combined with a sense of belonging, gives you the chance to chill and experience beer at its most totally awesome.
Australia, I believe, is leading the food movement and has moved away from the mainstream into more quality and you can really taste the love a passion.
So is true for our beer offerings as visiting Sydney's craft breweries at hidden industrial locations, beachside to the CBD, is now more an adventure than just a quick drink at the pub.
These are my Top 5 and favourites and are still mostly interdependently Aussie owned (at the time of writing this).
The Lord Nelson Brewery and Hotel - Sydney's Oldest Pub

Lord Nelson Craft Beer is one of my favourite beers. For novice craft brew drinkers, most beers are easy drinking and not too rich or overwhelming.
(Try Three Sheets Pale Ale and Victory Bitter)
Food Review - Food is mostly pub food at lunchtime. On my last visit I had a brisket steak roll and was 100% satisfied.
Akasha Brewery

Multi-award winning Brewery in Five Dock ten -15 minutes out of the Sydney CDB.
A great team atmosphere where you can tell people love working at Akasha. All the beers are great and what you would expect from an excellent craft brewery. You can't go past the larger and a couple of Triple IPAs.
Food Review - Food trucks visit and Dave told me they will be doing up the bar and tasting room. More to come in 2019.

Great beer in a very cool location with lots of choices and the set has a wow factor as soon as you walk. Try the Sour Puss - actually, try it all - there is a massive selection. This is one place you need to keep going back too.
Food Review - Food trucks do visit.

This company have handcrafted a collection of craft beer. There are heavy beers full of characters and flavour from toffee, chocolate, crystal malts, citrus ... the list goes on. Enjoy well thought out service and try "The Butcher Porter" Full Bodied Dark Beer - won't need dinner!
Food Review - This is where a la Carte meets premium beer menu with crispy fried pork, wild kangaroo sausage and endeavour Cheeseboard. Yum, yum and more yum. 5 stars - you won't be disappointed
Nomad Brewing Company -

A limited range but the stuff they have onsite is A1. These guys radiate passion for the craft they have mastered.
Had a quick experience in the tasting room and tried a tray of beers. I could not put these down. I took a couple of cases home that now, weeks later, are just a distant memory. Look out for the limited releases and try the "Juicy AS IPA" - it is fruity with a bitter finish
Looking forward to catching more of these fantastic establishments
