My all-time favourite events for the festive season are the Community Carols that take place all over the Sunshine Coast, bringing family and friends together, for a fabulous night out of FREE entertainment. Don't you just love the warm and fuzzy feeling that seems to envelop you in a bear hug, when singing along with old Christmas favourites, getting into the mood for Christmas!
To help you on your way, here's a guide - in date order - as to what's happening, where and when. Make sure to bookmark all the important dates!

The family fun activities and the Street Food Festival will open at 3.00pm, with the main concert getting underway at 6.00pm. Sit back, relax and watch the spectacular kaleidoscope of colours bursting into the skies above you at the fireworks finale at Nambour Community Carols.

Bring a picnic rug and your best sing-along voice for a fabulous night under the stars. Doggies on a leash are welcome too - but please bear in mind that the music will be loud and there's a laser show too, which could be upsetting for sensitive pets.
Fabulous festivities to look forward to! Image: geralt>Pixabay License
Hopefully, the Sunshine Coast region will be blessed with some rain before the FREE Christmas Carol events' dates come up, as at present there are total fire ban restrictions in place, which could affect the firework displays. Keep a lookout on the respective links above for any changes that might be announced.
But, that's not to say, we can't still have fun with all the other fabulous festivities that will be happening at each of these wonderful events. Spruce up the Christmas trees and let's get our tinsels and tassels sorted, for the start of a splendid 2019 Christmas season.
There’s carols at Maroochydore Presbyterian church December 8th off Okinja road. I went there last year. Very family friendly with music, activities for the kids (cupcake creating, petting zoo, photo booth and more). It’s branch Aura Presbyterian is also doing a carols on the 13th December through Stockland with good band and a skate park in the vicinity.
