Next month, one of the world's most creative and spectacular enterprises returns to Perth as Cirque du Soleil brings its latest touring show, OVO, to Langley Park.

Billed as a "headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life" the show continues the proud tradition of the world-famous travelling circus. With OVO on the horizon, now is a great time to take a look at some of Cirque du Soleil's finest creations.

Mystere was the first of Cirque du Soleil's vaunted Las Vegas arena shows. Making its debut in 1993 at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, Mystere is a visually stunning combination of aerial athleticism and breathtaking acrobatics. Operatic, comedic and above all, riveting, Mystere is an acrobatic spectacle which will blow you away.

Alegria is one of the most popular touring shows in Cirque du Soleil's twenty-nine year history. Touring the world since 1994, the opera-styled journey into the trappings of power and the bold, creative energy of youth has been seen by more than 10 million people around the world.

A masterpiece of visual and sonic achievement, Varekai tells the story of Icarus and his magical journey after flying too close to the sun and falling from the sky. A visual wonder, the show stands as a tribute to the nomadic spirit of the human soul and the discovery of new possibilities.

Another of Cirque du Soleil's legendary Las Vegas shows, O takes creativity and artistry to another level. Revolving around the centerpiece set a 5,700 cubic metre pool of water the show features world class divers, gymnasts and synchronized swimmers, all in typically lavish Cirque du Soleil style. The show has been running at the Bellagio in Las Vegas since 1998.

Combining Chinese and Western contemporary circus, Dralion is an East-meets-West spectacle that should not be missed. With a strong elemental theme, nature's elements take on human form and weave a majestic and allegorical hope for unity. As stunning as any Cirque du Soleil program, Dralion is still a unique and thoroughly entertaining piece of circus wizardry.

Cirque du Soleil returns to Langley Park in Perth beginning April14 with the spectacular Ovo. Tickets are on sale now.
