Where will you have lunch this Christmas?
Christmas Day Lunch can be an epic affair with all the family sat around the table, enjoying a delectable feast which has taken you hours to prepare or it can be lots of fun with little work. However, if you have visions of letting someone else do all the work, especially if the prediction is for a scorching day, then here is my list of the top eight Christmas Day lunches not at your house in 2019.
Join in the ultimate Christmas festivities with the Stamford Grand's Grand Festive Christmas Lunch in the Grand Ballroom at 2 Jetty Road, Glenelg. There will be a delicious buffet selection, including a three-hour beverage package, all to be enjoyed while listening to live music. Santa will be there and there will be a magic show, so bring the whole family and enjoy lunch while gazing over a stunning view of Glenelg Beach.

Join the crew at the Feathers Hotel Adelaide, 516 Glynburn Road, Burnside for a four-course set menu fit for a king. There will be a choice of seafood, duck, turkey, pavlova and Christmas pudding with seatings at 12 pm and 12.30 pm.
Cost is $161.11 (adults) and $83.63 (under 18 years). If you want the seafood platter option, this is an additional $40 per couple. This is usually a sell-out affair, so get in quick and secure your place.
The Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide, 125 North Terrace invites you to celebrate this festive season with them. You will enjoy a full gourmet Christmas buffet lunch, a three-hour beverage package, live entertainment and a kids corner with a visit from Santa.
Located in the Terrace Ballroom, 150 North Terrace, Adelaide, the Stamford Plaza Christmas Day Buffet Lunch will be an afternoon filled with outstanding food and premium beverages.
This lunch will see you seated at shared tables of 10 for maximum fun. A range of wonderful delights including antipasto, cheese boards, salads, seafood, hot selections, carving, gravy and a dessert buffet will have you rolling out and down the road.

Those in the Barossa region will be thrilled with The Cellar Kitchen's Christmas Day fair at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, 42 Pioneer Drive, Rowland Flat. This buffet menu will feature the best of South Australian produce in a paddock to plate philosophy alongside the Barossa Valley vineyard views.
Commencing at 1 pm, the cost is $175.16 (adults), $106.59 (12 – 18 years), $64.39 (5 – 11 years) and children 4 years and under are free. Grab your tickets now.

For those looking for something just a little different The River Café, War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide is offering a little bit more than the traditional fair. Along with your traditional Christmas lunch offerings enjoy saffron and smoked mozzarella arancini, cannelloni and almond panna cotta.
Cost is $160 (adults), $95 (12 – 17 years) and $75 (under 12 years). A deposit of $20 per person is required at booking and full payment by 10 December. Go to the website for the full menu or phone 8211 8666 to book.
Enjoy Christmas Day Lunch in one of the most beautiful historic homes in South Australia, Ayres House located at 288 North Terrace, Adelaide.
You will enjoy a starter of sourdough bread with olives and dukkah, then a seafood tasting plate entrée. Your main will consist of turkey, barramundi or beef and if you still have room, you can enjoy a dessert tasting plate of bavarois slice, Christmas pudding and chocolate tart. Enjoy all of this with a 3.5-hour premium drinks package.

Southern friends can enjoy Christmas Day Lunch at Windy Point Restaurant and Café, Windy Point Lookout, Belair Road, Belair and enjoy a very special view overlooking the city. With a choice of dining in the restaurant or the café, you will not want to choose.
In the restaurant from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm and the café from 12 pm to 3 pm, you will enjoy a range of tasting plates during your entrée, main and dessert including a premium beverage package.
