[b] 1. Second Annual Steamfest Event[/b]
This event will be held on 6th May 2018 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Castledare Miniature Railway, Wilson Park, 1 Castledare Place, Wilson.

This is an annual event with all things steam. Provided the weather is good, they will be running steam locos only.



They will also have visiting steam trains and traction engines running near the picnic area, as well as static displays, plus more entertainment, yet to be announced.

Prices for the train rides (Eftpos available) are:
Adult rides $6.00 (Children under 2 travel free with an adult)
Children rides $3.00
10 ride Multirider $24.00

[b]2. Nature Day Mudders Play[/b]
This will be held on 13th May from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Manning Park, Azelia Rd, Hamilton Hill.

This is a FREE event put on by Nature Play WA and City of Cockburn and it will be a day of messy, family fun enabling outdoor play with the most important woman in the world!

This will be an interactive event which will enable families to spend time together in nature. There will be lots of challenges to get involved in all things muddy, including:

  • Mud kitchens
  • Mud sculpting
  • Muddy puddles
  • Mud-stacle course and slide
  • Mud Masks for mum or dad
  • Muddy treasure hunt



  • This is a self-guided event where parents are responsible for their children at all times.

    [b]3. Ashley and Friends[/b]
    This will be held on 20th May from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at Bennett Brook Railway, Whiteman Park, Lot 99 Lord Street, Whiteman.

    With the station Master directing, Ashley and his colourful friends will haul the trains all day, taking you to all the attractions along the line.

    Adult and children (2-18) tickets are $15 (includes the online discount of 25%) through this site.

    If you buy your tickets on the day, they will cost $20 each, with Eftpos being accepted.

    Your ticket includes:
  • Unlimited heritage train rides on all three trains (all day)
  • Unlimited heritage bus rides (all day)
  • Bus Museum displays
  • Fire Engine displays by DFES
  • Scouts display
  • Entry to Revolutions Transport Museum

    [b]4. Cubby Town 2[/b]
    This is hosted by Nature Play, and will be held on 28th April from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Yanchep National Park, Cnr Indian Ocean Dr and Yanchep Beach Rd, Yanchep.

    This event is held in conjunction with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (Parks and Wildlife Services), as well as the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (Sport and Recreation WA) and with support from City of Wanneroo, Peet and Reece.

    Once again, this event will enable families to spend time together in nature - they can build cubbies and forts, play with mud kitchens, create nature crafts and explore Yanchep National Park through an interactive Scavenger Hunt.

    [b]5. Kids Big Carnival[/b]
    This will be an event for the school holidays, so come and join in the fun at the Wanneroo Showgrounds, Ariti Avenue, Wanneroo.

  • The stars of Dreamworks Trolls will be there with Poppy, and a song in her heart. Poppy understands that life must be all about cupcakes and rainbows, and Branch, who is very cautious and careful but is always ready for whatever presents itself to him, apart from Poppy's personality!

    You will also get a chance to see Poppy and Branch after the show and have a photo taken with them for free.

    [b]6. Old Macdonald's Travelling Farm [/b]
    This will be hosted by Sorrento Quay Boardwalk - Hillarys Boat Harbour, and will be on 16th to 20th April at 11.00 am at Sorrento Quay Boardwalk, Hillarys Boat Harbour, 58 Southside Drive, Sorrento.

    Bring the kids down to see Old Macdonald's Farm this school holidays - there will be very cute baby animals outside Lifestyle, Naturally Australian and Frankii from 11 am till 2 pm.

    [b]7. Groundswell Kids Festival[/b]
    This event is hosted by We Love Scarborough and will be held on 7th April from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, at Abbett Park, Deanmore Road, Scarborough.

    This is a free event with heaps of activities/fun for the children. There will be:

  • lucky dips
  • crafts
  • lawn games
  • food & drink pop-ups
