1. Mount Tamborine
Where: Tamborine National Park, Tamborine, Tamborine Mountain and Mount Tamborine regions.

Details: This is the perfect family-friendly outing with hinterland hikes, waterfalls, lookouts, walks, and plenty of nature outdoor activities at the 3rd oldest National Park in the world! Botanic Gardens, rainforest walks, boutique shopping, art & craft and much more can be explored here.

2. Tallebudgera Creek
Where: 1544 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach
When: All year round.
Cost: Free
Details: There is so much to do and see as well as plenty of kid activities with a small beach with lots of shade. The calm waters are perfect for water activities to be enjoyed such as swimming and kayaking, picnic areas and access from the other shore of Tallebudgera Creek from Burleigh Heads National Park offers more privacy.

Details: This lush green outcrop on the Gold Coast is a wonderful day out - take the kids on a scavenger hunt to see who can spot out the most critters... it is a great way to have fun. 6. Natural Bridge at Springbrook & Glow Worms

Details: Just under one hour drive from Gold Coast you will be welcomed to waterfalls, bushwalks, lookouts, walking trails suitable for 3 year olds , picnic areas, glow worm caves and more.

7. Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens

12. David Fleay Wildlife Sanctuary

Details: David Fleay is described as the father of wildlife conservation and he established the wildlife park in 1952 and was the first person to successfully breed platypuses in captivity. This is the perfect attraction for the little ones to see Fleay's remarkable legacy as they view and learn about Australian animals and wildlife conservation. 13. Jellurgal Aboriginal Culture Centre

Details: The kids will love seeing hundreds of pelicans gathering for a feed! Charis Seafood opens one of the back windows and feeds these amazing creatures fishy leftovers and it is certainly one fun way for the kids to experience up close and personal pelican feeding!
