This year Canberra is filled with events ranging from culinary to music and plenty more.

Be sure to pencil in these dates for a year filled with both free and ticketed events to enjoy.

1. Lantern Festival 2015
When: 7 March 2015
Where: Beijing Garden, Lennox Gardens, Flynn Place, Canberra
Cost: Free entry
Details: Experience the final event of Chinese New Year with this spectacular Lantern Festival. The Beijing Garden will be decorated with a multitude of Chinese Lanterns and lights, performances, Chinese traditional music, children's dances, martial arts and lion dance are just some of the entertainment to be enjoyed at this festival.

2. Canberra Day
When: 9 March 2015: 2pm-7pm
Where: Patrick White Lawns, Parkes Place West, Canberra (in front of the National Library of Australia)
Cost: Free entry
Details: Canberra Day will feature a day of family-friendly entertainment including a range of free activities, amusements and paid rides. Activities range from Jump 'n' Slide, jumping castles, face painting, picnic games, crafts, giants rides and plenty more.

3. Art, Not Apart Festival
When: 14 March 2015: from 1pm
Where: NewActon Precinct, Kendall Lane, Canberra

4. FM 104.7 Skyfire 27
When: 14 March 2015:6pm- 9:30pm
Where: Commonwealth Park, various locations around Central Basin, Canberra

Details: Skyfire 27 delivers a magnificent display of fireworks. There will be plenty of free live entertainment and performances.

5. Canberra Balloon Spectacular**
When: 7 – 15 March 2015: from 6am
Where: Lawns of Parliament House
Cost: Free
Details: Canberra's skies will be filled with a stunning array of giant hot air balloons. From 6am pilots begin inflating balloons, this is a wonderful way to start your day...

6. Canberra Comedy Festival Opening Night Gala Encore
When: 17 March 2015:
Where: Canberra Theatre Centre,

7. Canberra Harvest Festival
When: 28 March 2015: 2pm-6pm
Where: Lawns of Canberra Environment Centre, cnr Lennox Crossing & Lawson Crescent, Canberra
Cost: Free entry
Details: Join Canberra's local growers, movers and shakers at the Harvest Festival. There will be plenty of activities ranging from workshops, solar cooking, making olive oil, worm farming & composting, live music, beer & wine garden, delicious burgers and plenty more...

8. National Folk Festival
When: 2- 6 April 2015:
Where: Exhibition Park, cnr Flemington Rd & Federal Hwy, Canberra

Details: Join in on the celebrations of traditional and contemporary folk life with a range of high-end entertainment to grassroots and many events. There will be over 200 acts representing diverse styles such as acoustic, blues, roots, bluegrass, world, Celtic, traditional, gypsy and country with a program also consisting of music, dance, spoken word, film circus and traditional crafts.

9. Canberra and Region Heritage Festival
When: 11-26 April 2015

Details: This year's theme is Conflict & Compassion. Celebrate the importance of the region's heritage. There will be over 100 events and most of them are free, there will be plenty of tours, open days, dances and the list goes on...



10. Canberra International Music Festival
