Climb, Eat and Sail for a Good Cause
There's nothing better really really than doing something you were going to do anyway but also helping a good cause in the process.

1. Climb for Cancer
If you like staying fit, why not join the Climb for Cancer on Sunday 19 May 2013. You'll be climbing the stairs at Waterfront Place, Eagle St and it doesn't matter how long it takes you so run, walk or even crawl your way to the top. Once there you can enjoy the spectacular view, have a break and swap stories. If you can't make it all the way, volunteers will be on hand to guide you to the lifts. Why not get a team together or challenge your boss to run the whole 37 floors. All money raised goes to the Mater Medical Research Institute located in South Brisbane. Just register online (various prices) and get training.

2. The Big Dinner Party

We all like eating (in fact its a bit of a speciality of mine) so why not host a dinner party to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. MS is the most common neurological disease affecting Australians and there's no cure... yet. You can help by raising money and awareness.Simply invite your friends over for dinner one night in March and ask them to donate the amount they would normally spend on a night out. Dinner can be anything from a formal three course meal to a BBQ or picnic. Why not have some fun and try a theme? Maybe a 70s fondue night or a roaring twenties party with gin in the bathtub.

The website has everything you need including invitations, theme ideas and recipes. To register your dinner party or to find out more see the website

3. Rainbow Warrior Ship Tour 2013
Rainbow Warrior in Auckland (Image courtesy of the Greenpeace website)

The new Rainbow Warrior is the first high seas sailing vessel that Green peace has built. Funded through donations by supporters, it has a helicopter landing pad, 50 metre high sails, the latest digital broadcast technologies and a purpose built crane. The aim of the tour is to raise awareness about the need to save the Great Barrier Reef. The ship will be in Brisbane for one day only on Thursday 4 April, but then continues further up North. Join in a free ship tour, meet the crew and hear about the ship and its adventures on the high seas.
