Don't get misled by the glitz and glamour of Darling Harbour into thinking that it's a place for adults only and if you have kids you cannot have some fun here. It's as much a place for fun and entertainment for young children and kids as it is for the adults. Move over the pubs, restaurants and bars cordoning the cockle bay wharf area and check out these amazing things you can do and see if you have a young one at home.

Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum

These wax statues of famous personalities from around the globe will blow your mind away and amuse your kids equally. Take them here for a tour and give them an opportunity to get up, close and personal with their favourite stars and take as many selfies as they like. It's a win-win for both you and your kids.

Time: It opens from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm every day. Last entry is permitted at 7:00 pm.

Sea Life Aquarium

The Sea Life Sydney Aquarium will open doors of a wonderland for your kids in all age group. With around 12,000 animals in 650 species this place on Darling Harbour is a perfect way to enchant your kids whilst also educating them about the sea life in a fun way. Explore sea life like sharks, dugongs, turtles, stingrays, penguins, platypuses, tropical fish and much more.

Time: It opens daily from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm. Last admission is permitted at 6:00 pm

LG IMAX Theatre

What can excite a child more than watching their favorite film in the world's largest IMAX screen? And the icing on the cake is that you too get to go along with your kids and watch world's some of the best creative and fun movies in 2D and 3D. Make sure you check the session time before you head out to the theatre as the session times may change sometimes.

Time: Depends on the session time of the show chosen.
Ticket Cost: From $17 per child. You may be able to find different pricing for school kids on the website.

Carousel

Located at Palm Grove this one's strictly a weekend fun, as it operates only over the weekends. Nonetheless it carries the charm to woo young and adults with equal force. You can enjoy rides with your kids and also get them introduced to some history about this carousel when you tell them that this is the oldest surviving carousel in Australia, second to the one in Melbourne.

Darling Quarter Playground


This is like every child's dream – a huge playground. Located near Harbour Street, this place playground boasts of everything from water games, climbing ropes, swings, slides and flying foxes enough to keep toddlers and teens engrossed for hours. Kids and adults both love this high energy and fiercely competitive game, so honestly speaking you don't really need any excuse to be here. Just shoot your opponent with the laser gun and earn highest points to become a winner. This is located on level 3 of the Harbour Shopping Center.
