Australia Day and Triple J's Hottest 100

Australia Day and Triple J's Hottest 100 go hand in hand. Whether you are spending the day with family or friends, at a private party or out on the town, Triple J's countdown of Australia's hottest 100 tunes is required listening.
Here are five of the best venues in Brisbane to share a beer with mates, chill out, and groove to some great tunes - the hottest 100, in fact.

Caxton Hotel

Celebrate Australia Day at The Caxton, one of Brisbane's oldest pubs, located on trendy Caxton Street in Petrie Terrace. Listen to the Hottest 100 and take part in the Caxton Kilo Challenge. Kilo steaks are only $35 all day.

The Fox Hotel

The Fox in South Brisbane, another official Triple J Hottest 100 venue, will be celebrating with a Craft Beer Festival. For more information, read this review by Weekend Notes writer Geraldine Massey.

South Bank Surf Club

Head to the beach at South Bank. Relax with friends and a beer or two at the South Bank Surf Club , while listening to Triple J and enjoying the surf club's famous roast pig on the spit.

Alloneword in Fortitude Valley is one of Brisbane's newest bar venues. Their Australia Day celebrations include a backyard barbecue with beer and wine, and Triple J's Hottest 100. Tickets are $65.

Norman Park Bowls Club

Head to Norman Park Bowls Club, the "bowls club with a city vibe", for their Aussie Day on the Green featuring Triple J's Hottest 100 and free bowls all day. Bookings are essential for bowls.
