Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, Queensland
In an absolute celebration of this lovely golden vegetable

Goomeri in the Gympie Region, celebrate all things pumpkin, including the great Australian pumpkin roll where the participants will have to roll pumpkins all the way down the hill across the road and up into a gully the next side.

They also celebrate the Pumpkin Power Shot Put and Pumpkin Pull hauling a sled of pumpkins. The festival continues with lots of creative cooking demonstrations and culminates with the fabulous orange is the new black ball.

Chinchilla Melon Festival, Queensland
If you love all things melons, this festival is for you

In February every year at chinchilla in the Darling Downs, west of Brisbane you will find the chinchilla melon festival.

Events such as watermelon skiing, Pip spitting and melon skating are all part of this fun festival, there is even a slippery watermelon obstacle course and a chariot race using vehicles made out of melon packing cartons.
