Here's a Top-10 List of Victorian Events to get you out and about in Melbourne and Regional Victoria throughout June 2019.

1 Heathcote On Show

Heathcote comes alive over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, Saturday 8th to Monday 10th June, with Heathcote On Show celebrating this district's produce and in particular, its world-beating wines.



There'll be a huge array of events including tastings, wine dinners, masterclasses, food & entertainment and 26 Cellar doors open throughout the region.

Heathcote is 124-Kilometres north of Melbourne, just over a 90-minute drive via the Hume Freeway/M31 and the Northern Highway/B75.

2. Winter Wine Weekend

The annual Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Association Winter Wine Weekend is again, scheduled to be staged over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend from Saturday 8th to Monday 10th June.

The opening event for the weekend is an exhibition and tasting held at Red Hill Showgrounds on Saturday between 11 AM and 4 PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste as many as 200 premium wines from 47 wineries and matched with a menu prepared by 9 chefs and a cheese maker.

The rest of the weekend is given over to visiting the warm and inviting Cellar doors of the Mornington Peninsula.

3. Castlemaine Jazz Festival

The annual Castlemaine Jazz Festival is back bigger and better than ever for 2019.

Over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, Friday 7th to Monday 10th June, more than 50 bands and 300 musicians will perform at multiple venues throughout Castlemaine.

The program includes trad jazz, big-bands, bebop, jazz fusion and contemporary styles.

4. World Jousting Championship

Warragul's Lardner Park will host the 2019 World Jousting Championship over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 1st & 2nd June.

The park will resound o the thunder of hooves as knights gallop head-on at each other, lances poised to strike their opponent anywhere between the bottom of his shield and the top of his helmet.



As well as witnessing the jousting visitors will transported back to a historic Middle Ages village complete with a trebuchet (a giant medieval catapult), a birds of prey display archery, a knight school for kids, Viking battles and a medieval tavern.

5. National Celtic Festival

Whether it's an Irish jig or a Scottish highland fling that gets your toes tapping, you won't want to miss the National Celtic Festival to be staged at Portarlington on the Bellarine Peninsula over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, from Friday 7th to Monday 10th June.

Enjoy a long weekend of Celtic music, dance, theatre and storytelling at a variety of venues in Portarlington.
This weekend has everything pipe bands, Celtic dance troupes, local & international entertainers – even a highland cattle show.

6. Melbourne Good Food & Wine Show**

The Melbourne Good Food & Wine Show is a great opportunity for a day out with family and friends experiencing new foods, wines and the very latest products.

Top chefs, including Matt Moran George Calombaris and Maggie Beer, will appear at the Princess Cruises theatre, there'll be a VIP Lounge presented by Margaret River Wines, regional exhibitions, master classes and the Good Food Village.

Commencing Friday 31st May the Good Food & Wine Show runs until Sunday 2nd June at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Wharf.

7. June Long Weekend at Pomonal Estate

If you find yourself in the west of the State of over the weekend of Saturday & Sunday, the 8th & 9th June, you could a lot worse than spend some time at Pomonal Estate , a winery, microbrewery and Cider House with on-site accommodation located just 10-minutes from Halls Gap, the heart of the fabulous Grampians.

With the Cellar Door open from 10 AM to 5 PM on both days, you'll have the opportunity to taste some great wines by the glass or sample paddles of both beer and cider. There'll be live music, wood-fired pizzas and tasting platters to help make this a very relaxed weekend in one of Victoria's premier tourism districts.

8. Woodend Winter Arts Festival**

Tickets are selling fast for 15th annual Woodend Winter Arts Festival , a showcase of vibrant, traditional and thought-provoking performances and events in the heart of one of Victoria's best food & wine regions.

Staged over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, from Friday 7th to Monday 10th June, the event kicks off with opening night fireworks on the Friday followed by three days of everything from Poetry at the Pub to Schubert's Trout Quintet, Vivaldi L'estro to pottery and art exhibitions, a workshop on self-publishing and a Festival Finale Dinner held at the Victoria Hotel.

9. Mornington Winter Music Festival

Mornington comes alive over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, Friday 7th to Monday 10th June, for the 7th annual Mornington Winter Music Festival .

The 2019 festival features a host of talent showcasing an exciting program of traditional and modern jazz alongside Blues and other music genres.

Venues as diverse as Barmah Park Winery, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and the Mornington Yacht Club will feature a long list of artists including Kissing Harriet, Wilbur Wilde & The Troublemakers, Oskar Proy, The Chris Commerford Band and Coco Michelle to name just a few.

On Sunday, you'll be able to step back in time and jump aboard a Heritage Jazz Train running from Mornington Station at 11 AM and again at 12.15 PM with onboard performances by roots & Blues performer Jarrod Shaw.

10. Rutherglen Winery Walkabout

Rutherglen has long been at the forefront of Australian wine production and the annual Rutherglen Winery Walkabout , Victoria's original wine festival, has been attracting enthusiastic wine lovers for well over 40-years.

Held over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, this year's event will run over Saturday and Sunday 8th & 9th June.

A General Admission ticket - Winery Walkabout, gets you access to wine tastings at 19 wineries, live music & entertainment winery tours and lots more right around the Rutherglen district and there'll be an official Walkabout shuttle-bus for drop-off and pick-up at participating Cellar Doors.
