Have you had a good plunge lately? No? If you are the sort of person who can think of nothing better than an adrenaline rush filled with danger, in a safe sort of way, then just for you. Here are my top ten best places in Australia to plummet from.

Delight in the feeling of flying, plummet to the earth, feel exhilarated with sheer weightlessness of the perfect fling. Are you ready to leap?

1. BASE Jumping
We've seen it in the movies, the rock music that goes with it. The sport of the cool, the wild, and perhaps the slightly mad. If leaping from tall objects gets your blood racing, here's a couple of companies to try it out with:

2. Bungee jumping
One of the most well known companies is AJ Hackett in Cairns.
Claiming to be the Adventure capital of Australia. They have a 50 metre Bungy Tower which thousands of people have already leapt from!

As well as bungee jumping, they also offer 16 different jump styles; from swan dive to extreme roof and BMX bike jumps sure to satisfy all the adrenaline junkies out there!!

Their claim to fame includes hosting the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slash from Guns N' Roses, Crusty Demons and this assists people worldwide to flock to them.

3. Skydiving
Some of the reputed names in Skydiving are Melbourne Skydive Centre , The Parachute School , Sky Dive Nagambie , Adrenalin and Adventures Australia.

4. Paragliding
Whether you wish to experience a days adventure or become a flight instructor, High Adventure Paragliding and Paramotoring school can assist you.

You can find them at Laurieton on the mid north coast of NSW, just over 3 hours north of Sydney. They even have a beach house solely for Students and Visiting Pilots, just meters from North Haven Beach.

5. Zip Lining the Treetops
If soaring through the treetops is more your style, come alone or bring the kids to treesadventures in Belgrave. You can begin on the baby runs and move up to skateboarding the canopy on the "are you mad" runs. Click here for a full review

6. Hang-gliding
Located in the Victorian Pyrenees winery region, Dynamic Flight Hang Gliding School enjoys a low rainfall allowing it to operate year round. They have complete hang gliding certificate courses every 5 to 6 weeks throughout the year.

Dynamic Flights' location allows easy access to a large variety of launch sites, which cater for every wind direction and promise a lovely day. They claim to have the largest flight park in the world, with four tow strips in eight directions, allowing hang gliders to be towed to altitudes of over one thousand feet regardless of wind direction.

Dynamic Flight is located less than 2 hours drive for one quarter of Australia's population.

7. Minjin Jungle Swing
Back to AJ Hacketts, I just have to mention the Minjin Jungle Swing. A fantastic contraption that allows 1, 2 or 3 people to zoom at extreme speed together. Claiming to be the only multi-person Swing in Australia. The Minjin swing soars through the jungle descending 45 metres down to 1 metre in 3.5 seconds at speeds up to 120km/h.

You will be hoisted up to the original 45 metres, laying horizontally above the rainforest then it's up to you to pull the self release button and zoom down.

8. Tandem Skydiving in Nagambie
If the thought of sky diving appeals, but you're just too darn scared to do it by yourself or maybe you'd even like to share the experience, perhaps tandem skydiving is for you.
Here's a great company in nagambie that will hook everything up for you.

9. Scuba Diving in Melbourne
If leaping into the abyss intrigues more than leaping from a mountain, perhaps you may like scuba diving a terrific family friendly activity, filled with sea creatures to delight you.

10. Cave-Diving
Heres an activity I only recently discovered. The magic and delight of caving, yet all in the serenity of being underwater.
You can choose from various levels of difficulty from Deep Cavern (includes Cavern and Sinkhole sites), Cave, and Advanced Cave.

The cave divers will train you, certify you and assist you to set off to discover your own underwater magical adventure.
